Quote:

Speaking of Trump's policies, his mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic must be addressed. During the crisis, Trump ceded charge of the country to Debbie Birx and Anthony Fauci, and the results were disastrous. Entire states were locked down, and hundreds of thousands of small businesses went under.

When states like Georgia decided to reopen, Trump harshly attacked them. Through Trump's Operation Warp Speed, thousands of people were forced out of their jobs for refusing to accept an experimental vaccine, and some of those who did take the vaccine suffered side effects. At no point has Trump ever owned up to his responsibility in this assault on the American way. To this day, he insists that he saved millions of lives through his handling of the pandemic. Trump has even gone so far as to host a rally with an heir of Johnson & Johnson on the same day regulators all but banished the company's COVID vaccine from the market due to blood clotting issues.

Unfortunately, this is not out of character for Trump, as he holds and has held several liberal positions. Trump supported banning bump stocks, never passed a balanced budget, and has attacked states for passing heartbeat legislation, which bans abortion when a fetal heartbeat can be detected.

Good lord, the Miami Herald (an extremely liberal newspaper) is putting out anti-Desantis editorials virtually daily now, lol. But no, they don't view him as a threat to become President, not at all.

https://www.miamiherald.com/opinion/

Meanwhile, show me a negative article about Vivek. I see daily articles on him, but oddly enough they're simply informative articles, some even casting him in a somewhat positive light (or at least not negative). Seriously, I'd love to see someone post an anti-Ramaswamy article by the same MSM that puts out anti-Desantis, anti-Trump, and even some anti-Christie articles on a daily basis. I wonder why you don't see those articles.

I feel sad for the people that think Trump is more truthful that friends and family. You need to re-evaluate your freinds if that's the case.

No wonder DeSantis comment on being principled kicked them in the nuts so hard.

Trump is going to be found guilty of multiple felonies.

He will likely be taken off the voter rolls by democrat party Secretaries of State.

Meadows told special counsel he could not recall Trump ever declassifying Mar-a-Lago docs
Trump has insisted that he declassified all the materials before he left office.

Mark Meadows contradicts Trump's defense in classified documents case: Sources

Appearing to contradict former President Donald Trump's primary public defense in the classified documents case, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has told special counsel Jack Smith's investigators that he could not recall Trump ever ordering, or even discussing, declassifying broad sets of classified materials before leaving the White House, nor was he aware of any "standing order" from Trump authorizing the automatic declassification of materials taken out of the Oval Office, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

I bet they also believe Trump is more truthful than the Bible.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

The whole documents thing is a pile of horse crap, but one thing is for sure, unless they are idiots, every ex-president is going to have 2 lawyers on staff just to deal with these things from now on.

but it's definitely NOT a cult!

I can't even comprehend believing a billionaire POLITICIAN more than friends and family!

that is literally insanity.

New Iowa Poll. Need to get those losers at the bottom to drop out.

Trump continues to increase the gap between himself and DeSantis in the national polling averages (both RCP and 538)...

The only guy "not named Trump" showing any positive gains contains continues to be Ramaswamy...

It will be interesting to see if DeSantis can gain any traction at all after the debate on Wednesday...

I think most of the Scott's and Ramaswamy's would go Trump...but the others could definitely go DeSantis...

But if I am honest, I don't think it's the "also rans" hurting DeSantis... He's just not able to break through the Trump sound barrier...

Not really unexpected this far out with an incumbent with 100% name recognition, although Vivek being that low is good news assuming he eventually becomes Trump's VP.

Don't really expect much to change until the rest of the non-Trump options start to drop out.

Well, the majority of voters don't want Trump, so I'd say it's hurting him from consolidating support.

Scott's voters aren't going to Trump. His voter's are looking for a positive Christian. Vivek's sure.

Trump told me he is "50 and 60 points ahead!"

reality is even in THIS poll to be an "incumbent" as Trump claims he is, in his THIRD race in Iowa, after being the most famous person in the world, in his own political party...

and he is at 42% support!

that is abysmal.

Ron has the MOST support of any candidate including Trump

in SECOND CHOICE

so as the other pretenders drop, and even if Trump support wanes- DeSantis will be the beneficiary

this is a pretty good poll for Team DeSantis.

I still expect some communist obama-judge backed (il-)legal shenanigans to be used to keep Trump off the ballot in a few key states, thus shaking it up and pushing more folks to RDS as we head into the new year. Vivek and Scott might have a shot, but I think momentum will move more to one challenger vs. multiple as the field narrows due to financing still.

I also think Youngkin and some of the others that have tried to be cute about getting in are just going to stay out.

Polls churned out right after the latest indictment so of course Trump gets a boost.

Bet when the polls show Trump losing the general by 10+ to Newsom or Frau Whitmer, you'll start claiming they're "fake/rigged."

Not sure I follow...

The plurality of likely caucus voters in Iowa have Trump as their top choice, and a small majority (52%) have him as their 1st or 2nd choice...

Just less than 5 months to go to the Iowa Caucuses...I am interested to see what the polling numbers look like a week after this coming Wednesday's R candidate debate... Will the field make any inroads on Trump's lead? We should know in about 10 days...

1) The gap has closed by 7 points in IA the past month, so the trend is in the right direction.
2) A third of Trump's support is open to changing their mind, so that small 2nd choice majority is in danger. Big difference between 52% to 34%. Remember before the indictments, Trump was polling in the low 30s.

each day that goes by makes it less and less likely that anyone else jumps into the race.

If DeSantis can break into the 30s in Iowa, that will put a huge amount of pressure on Trump to actually debate.

has anyone even posted the Trump statement that he will not debate AT ALL in the future?!

Hmmm...from an average polling standpoint, I am not seeing that same gap closure...

But time will tell, obviously...

I do think DeSantis's Iowa ground came is going to help close the gap...but I think it needs to be no more than 6-8 points going into the caucuses on that day for him to have a chance at winning it...

It's going to be fascinating to watch either way...this is a rare dynamic we are witnessing...
