A man is touring heaven for the first time. His guide offers... Over here are the Catholics. They are sharing a little wine. A little farther down the hall here are the Presbyterians. You can tell them by their love of V-neck sweaters. They are discussing their love of golf. He goes through each group and finally gets to a group at the end of the hall. The guide turns to the new resident and says "Quiet please. Those are the Religious Conservatives. For this to be their heaven, they have to believe they are the only ones here! Walk past and don't say anything".

Christians, on the right, love to judge who is not doing thing right.
It's a common issue for those of us who are evangelicals. We tend to forget Paul's admonition "What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?" 1 Cor 5:12.

It's the tension of discerning those who don't know Christ and sharing the message of hope found in the Gospel. Still doesn't mean we're silent on issues of culture and faith.

You don't have to be religious to acknowledge Griner should show more appreciation for the US.

Religious conservatives don't have any power these days although many on the left still think they're fighting Christianity like it's rhe 1970s and they're still underdogs. So weird and made up.

"Religious conservatives don't have any power these days"

There's alot of truth in that.....and wielding government power shouldn't be our goal anyway.

Your last sentence is a non sequitur, and the above paragraph seems to forget that both Catholics & Presbyterians add to the last group of "Religious Conservatives." The "Joke" seems to be missing a punch line, and is not coherent.

"At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Political organizations like the NCC and the ELCA need to start paying taxes.

Back taxes even.

The ELCA issued a statement not too long ago acknowledging they were on stolen land . Funny thing is that as congregations all over the country have closed they have not given any of the land back.

The problem with clergy is that too many of them think they are here to save the world when in reality they need to be working toward saving souls

When in actuality they are doing neither. In 37 years as an LEO, the only clergy I ever knew to come on a police ride-along was an Assembly of God pastor who later joined our department and pastored part time. No Methodist, Baptist, Catholic or others did.
But OTOH, the Catholics held an annual Blue Mass to bless police and treat us to a pancake breakfast, courtesy of the Knights of Columbus. God bless them because the Catholics actually understand that administration of civil justice was a ministry.

Christians, on the right, love to judge who is not doing thing right.

Christians on the right have not rejected the Bible and have not rejected the notion that Scripture is inerrant. Christians on the left have very much done so.

The Bible is the Word of God. The Word of God is Jesus (see John 1). To reject the Word is to reject Jesus. And Jesus is the only way to salvation.

Christians on the right aren't the ones judging others. They believe what Jesus said and proclaim it as so. Thus, if Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light, and no one comes to the Father except through Jesus, and Jesus is the Word...well, do the math.

And yet you come on here to mock those Christians who actually believe what Jesus said.
that's not what most of us observe about "Christians on the right". It's the biggest segment that is hateful to others who dont get in line. It's ALL about judging others....even each other.

The best description of the Methodist mess that I've seen is that the conservative members of the church cared very much about theology and little about politics. The left cared very much about politics and very little about theology. Which is fine and all but theology and worship is the difference between church and a social club.

politics is the left's theology.

Your picking and choosing as we all do. Here is an idea:

1. Believe the Word of God IS infallible.
2. Accept that human nature, rooted in sin, is selfish and that selfishness includes forming little groups that exclude others because it makes us feel "right" and "valid".
3. Take up the challenge to Love God and Love People, which means those that disagree with you are not your enemy.
4. Encourage the yahoos on here who attack Brittany Griner after she said she learned a lesson about standing during the anthem as unforgivable or who divide us along madeup social issues like CRT to crack the Bible back open and read all of it, from washing the feet of the poor to turning the other cheek.

When you can do that, I will start considering posts that sound like they were written by the Pharasees

1. Agree.
2. Strawman...you threw out the "right wing Christians" label. True Christians don't group people. Staying true to God and his commandments, staying true to the Word, is NOT forming little groups that excludes others. All are welcome. If you reject the Word, any iota of the Word, then you are the one forming groups and excluding others because it makes you feel "right" and "valid" to be so accepting of the current age.
3. Agree, but the left want to tell me that I must accept the sin of those who disagree with me as a good thing and not consider it a sin. I sin. I sin hourly. I don't accept my sin as good. I repent of my sin and acknowledge it for the evil that it is. Jesus says to love my enemies, but he doesn't say to love and accept sin.
4. See #3 above. Forgiving people and turning the other cheek does not equate to accepting sin as good and treating it as though it weren't sin. That is what the modern Christian Left is DEMANDING that we do. They demand that we reject God for the world. They put the zeitgeist before God. I cannot do that, and as such, I'm labeled by you and others as some right wing Christian who hates his fellow humans.

You are just as Pharisaical...you demand we follow the current law of man rather than the law of God.
Masterful retort. Excellent !!!

You do realize you are guilty of doing what you are accusing those who don't follow your political beliefs of doing, don't you?

8th commandment (9th for some) mean anything to you at all?

Please provide for us examples of how those of us who stand on the Word as written are the ones who are "hateful to others who don't get in line"? Like I said before, we choose to follow Jesus and his commandments, not to follow the zeitgeist. And for that, we are labeled as haters and judgers of others.

The irony is thick with this one.

Wrong, they are going to be singing, "'Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!'" Guess how I know that?

Quote:

Rev. Margaret Rose, Episcopal Church Deputy to the Presiding Bishop for Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations, clarified the event was about "launching into the deep waters of the future of the NCC to see where God is calling us in the next 75 years."
At the risk of offending our leftists of faith who so much love and practice the inspired Word of God, I can tell you where God is calling the NCC members today and everyday for the next 75 years- to repent, to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and to be His witnesses unto the uttermost parts of the earth.
