I think the lefthanded chart is a pretty bad analogy. Schools use to force everyone to be right-handed in writing and other tasks. My grandmother was one of them.
I agree, but the argument is that society use to force everyone to be their gender "as assigned at birth".
They assert that had society been as "open and welcoming" in previous generations that the number of "transgender" people would have been much higher much earlier.
The ridiculousness of it is that there is no analog between gender and handedness unless you define gender by what you do or what you are "good at".
Western society spent decades trying to convince people that gender roles were primarily interchangeable; that there weren't "men's jobs" and "women's jobs"; or "men's colors" and "women's colors". If a man wanted to be a nurse, that was OK. If a woman wanted to wear pants, that's OK. That if a boy wants to play with dolls that doesn't make him less of a boy. If a girl wanted to work construction, that is OK.
Now this trans-madness is trying to convince society of just the opposite. If you like flannel and want to work construction, you must be a boy. If your interests vary between masculine and feminine, you must be non-binary.
I would say it's "ridiculous" but that downplays its real danger. It is dangerous and damaging to society.
