For those here who don't remember, Matt Araiza was an All-America punter at San Diego State. Nicknamed "The Punt God," the dude routinely hit 70-80 yard punts. He was drafted in the 6th Rd of the 2022 draft by the Buffalo Bills.
Not long after the draft, a 17-year-old accused him of taking part in a gang rape at SDSU. He denied the allegations.
His life was quickly destroyed. He was cut by the Bills and was looking at serious prison time; however, it's now come out that prosecutors and police know that Araiza was NOT present at the rape. He didn't appear in any of the videos and left the party hours before. His legal team claims that the woman added his name to the list of rapists as a money grab.
Now, with his reputation in shambles but completely innocent, we will see how the sports media and NFL respond to the latest news that he had no role in the incident.
A civil lawsuit alleged Matt Araiza led the gang rape of a 17 year old. He was soon cut as a NFL punter. Prosecutors in San Diego have now detailed their doubts about those allegations and why Araiza and others won’t be charged. https://t.co/vfxRH1tdXO
