His war on Disney has earned him approximately zero new voters.
Really true for all his culture war stuff. It mostly appeals to core Trump voters who 1) aren't switching to Ron a anyway and 2) only care about the culture wars when Trump does
He has my vote. I aint voting for vaccine Trumpamercer said:
That must be why Ron is on his way to winning the primary so biggly. Because he spent his time and effort on things voters care about and turned that into massive support in the party.

Trumpers ain't interested in facts, they're all about feelz.
His re-election by a landslide says otherwise. Disney was mainly a Florida issue not a national one. Keep trying though.amercer said:

🚨BREAKING: Internal docs reveal a MASSIVE gov't corruption scandal between Disney🐭 & Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID). Disney effectively controlled local gov't through bribes💰, including Disney World passes not available to the public. 🧵 1/16 https://t.co/LhAaMT6oca

The bondholders are about to go ballistic on Disney is my guess.dreyOO said:
Ron also has Elon putting them on blast. But let's all pretend that Disney has him right where it wants him.
Lololol
We were here a year ago signing legislation to bring an end to the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which was run by Disney.

For more than 50 years, the Reedy Creek local government was controlled—not by the people—but by one corporation: Disney.

One year ago, I signed legislation ending what an independent audit found to be one of the worst examples of cronyism in modern U.S. history: Reedy Creek, a local government controlled by a single company; Disney.

So much of the new right is insisting that everything is irreparably broken simply because their guy couldn’t fix it. But when someone does come along and does what they insist, what they swear cannot be done, they look the other way or feel visceral anger toward that person.… https://t.co/zO3YD7Hl4z

Estimated at $40B annually and been there for over 50 years would be $2T. Now, that is goofy math ignoring time value of money, inflation, growth of the properties, etc.BlueTaze said:
I don't think Disney has brought "trillions" to the state "over the years". Maybe 100s of billions.
Just look at the Trump aligned media such as the National File, National Pulse, Gateway Pundit, Brietbart, Conservative Treehouse, etc. They are still all in on destroying DeSantis and claiming now that everything he is doing is a "shadow campaign" because he is working with the "deep state" to remove Trump from the ballot.Im Gipper said:

Having followed this "war" fairly closely, I think at best DeSantis reached a draw if not an outright L on this.
Did it help him cruise to the R nomination? Nope.
Did it solidify his position a a great R leader and strong governor? Not much if at all.
Did it promote good Republican, conservative values of not using government to punish companies over political disagreements? No again.
Did it crush Disney and cause them irrecoverable financial harm? Nope. The parks in particular are going gangbusters these days.
I DISAGREE with everything Disney did regarding their political involvements and stands on LGBTQIA+++, DEI and other woke crap. I AGREE that RCID needed to go away / change as it was a rubber stamp quasi-public agency that Disney used to their advantage.
But DeSantis looks petty and a bit awkward in his victory lap on this as it was not a victory as all in the long-term.
