Like the subject of this thread per chance?

His war on Disney has earned him approximately zero new voters.

Really true for all his culture war stuff. It mostly appeals to core Trump voters who 1) aren't switching to Ron a anyway and 2) only care about the culture wars when Trump does

DeSantis didn't go after Disney until house of the mouse interfered in a law that has nothing to do with Disney. It is a law that has overwhelming support from the Florida residents.

That must be why Ron is on his way to winning the primary so biggly. Because he spent his time and effort on things voters care about and turned that into massive support in the party.

Believe amercer is a full on lib, which I guess at this point is a distinction without a difference when it comes to comparing with Trumpers.

I'm sure he's mostly upset that the dems golden boy was massacred by DeSantis on national tv last week.

His re-election by a landslide says otherwise. Disney was mainly a Florida issue not a national one. Keep trying though.

Andrew is streaming a presentation by an expert auditor who audited Reedy Creek. Tons of malfeasance, IRS issues, unlimited credit card spending, limited lists of vendors used to solicit bids and other ways of conducting their business as a governmental entity, such as Reedy Creek. They even conducted a utilities scam with bond money, for instance.

Watch how poorly Disney was running Reedy Creek.

Ron also has Elon putting them on blast. But let's all pretend that Disney has him right where it wants him.

Lololol

ETA: Holy schnikees! That stream was crazy...WTF was Disney thinking going to legal war when they were up to this many shenanigans. I'm sure the people named in these investigations really appreciate the spotlight they're under. WOW

The bondholders are about to go ballistic on Disney is my guess.

Plus, not a bond law expert but the new district assumed responsibility for those bonds but with this amount of fraud and malfeasance, can they now disavow that and turn the bonds back to being Disney's responsibility? That's a billion or more if they can.

So Reedy Creek issued bonds for utilities for a plant. But that plant produces no electricity, never has. They still buy the electricity from other providers. Nor has that plant been maintained?

There's a lot wrong in the House of the Mouse.

This is demonstrably false.
He actually turned Florida into a solid red state.

I don't think Disney has brought "trillions" to the state "over the years". Maybe 100s of billions.

Hard to believe any rational person would think Trump would make a better president than DeSantis.

Having followed this "war" fairly closely, I think at best DeSantis reached a draw if not an outright L on this.

Did it help him cruise to the R nomination? Nope.

Did it solidify his position a a great R leader and strong governor? Not much if at all.

Did it promote good Republican, conservative values of not using government to punish companies over political disagreements? No again.

Did it crush Disney and cause them irrecoverable financial harm? Nope. The parks in particular are going gangbusters these days.

I DISAGREE with everything Disney did regarding their political involvements and stands on LGBTQIA+++, DEI and other woke crap. I AGREE that RCID needed to go away / change as it was a rubber stamp quasi-public agency that Disney used to their advantage.

But DeSantis looks petty and a bit awkward in his victory lap on this as it was not a victory as all in the long-term.

Estimated at $40B annually and been there for over 50 years would be $2T. Now, that is goofy math ignoring time value of money, inflation, growth of the properties, etc.

But I would not dismiss as unreasonable. Probably a little Perryman-esque for sure.

Just look at the Trump aligned media such as the National File, National Pulse, Gateway Pundit, Brietbart, Conservative Treehouse, etc. They are still all in on destroying DeSantis and claiming now that everything he is doing is a "shadow campaign" because he is working with the "deep state" to remove Trump from the ballot.

MAGA simply can't stand there is actually a conservative who is successful in what he says and does, when their little god king is a walking failure.

Excellent governor. Best I have ever seen. My vote in the primary will be in honor of him.

I hope Trump finds a place for him in the Administration. His actions against Disney and corrupt government bureaucrats as governor strikes me as a man who would make an excellent AG with a mandate to clean house in the DoJ and FBI.

This election cycle it was always going to be tough to defeat a popular former President who wants the job back.

The lessons learned here will be useful in 2028. The candidate was not the issue. The campaign organization needed to be better to have any real chance.

DeSantis is a quick study and he will be stronger for the experience.

If anything was ever a proper conservative use of government, then it was the process DeSantis engaged in to oust Disney from control of Reedy Creek.

Removing an ineffective government process and saving taxpayers money in the process is what conservative governance should be all about.

As for his national bid, that was always going to be a difficult process considering Trump's candidacy. The former President is popular in the GOP and only a perfect campaign setup would have come close to defeating him.

Even then, you needed the support of a GOP-E who decided to throw in with Darling Nickie even after DeSantis crushed her in the debate.

As for Disney, their parks are doing well because of the environment DeSantis helped create in Florida economically.
