Is Putin an allied Turk president away from controlling the Bosporus?
Food for thought.
Food for thought.
If you think the CIA tinkered around too much in Ukraine with the color revolution, one can only imagine what they would do if a NATO member in the strategically important geopolitical situation of Turkey started to align with Russia.Stat Monitor Repairman said:

Had a family member on a Baptist missionary trip land in Istanbul during the first hours of the fake coup attempt. Hostilities broke while he was in the air. Holed up in a hotel and was able to leave without too much trouble, but it was pretty intense as he could see military vehicles from the window at times. Needless to say he didn't complete the mission work as it was going to be there in Turkey and it wasn't a good time for that without the risk of martyrdom
Protestants in Orthodox areas (rolls eyes).
It's pretty much like millions of pee wee team players coming to the majors to talk baseball.
What do you hope to achieve? Are you there to ask the locals what church they go to and if they have ever heard of Christ and try to sell them an uneducated watered down version of Christianity.
Patriarchs and Bishops are killed and they replace them and keep going.
The Rum (Christians) have been persecuted for 500 years and have held onto their faith. The Muslims aren't going to convert because they want to be able to send their kids to school and not be persecuted.
Most of the times these "missions" seem like a grift to get others to pay for a free trip to a cool place.
Protestants are so ignorant of the Christian world outside of their own country. Less aware of how they are perceived as wackadoodle by far more ancient Christian communities.
Go to Africa, go to India…. Orthodox countries have always said better the turbin than the Pope. Protestantism is far worse than the Pope.

Erdogan's health-related incident gives us a glimpse at Turkey's presidential election, as our nation's begins to ramp up over the past few weeks. Bloomberg writes that he's "facing his toughest election since taking power in 2003," with six different political parties working together by nominating one candidate, Kemal Kilicdaroglu. Notice the tone of Kilicdaroglu's reaction to his political opponents' ill health:Quote:
The opposition alliance has chosen Kemal Kilicdaroglu, 74, as its joint presidential contender in the May 14 vote. Kilicdaroglu wished Erdogan a quick recovery in a post on Twitter.

You must have missed the St Bartholomew's Day Massacre in France, which drove my Huguenot ancestors to Holland and to America. And the English Evangelical revivals, which did away with statutory slavery, and the 1st and 2nd Great Awakenings and the Pentecostal movement, which is now the fastest growing Christian movement worldwide…

My first tinfoil hat thought was Russia.
Seemed like Turkey was playing both sides a bit in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and they did supply Ukraine with the Bayraktar drones. Russia is also known for exposing political adversaries to unusual toxins.
Then again, heart attacks happen.
