Sure, you have changed my mind! Pot makes people more productive!
Depending on the strain, it actually does make people more productive. But, you have to educate yourself on the topic if you really want to eliminate your ignorance.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

LOL, my wife does that. All people did was counter your "life in shambles" contention. Nobody contended that pot increases productivity. It's not an either/or.

Nobody countered my point. The more you smoke the worse things get. People who smell like pot all the time are unproductive. I thought I was clear to distinguish between pot heads being the ones in shambles. Those who use it little, aren't. But apparently there is no honest discussion to be had on this topic.

To me, if the more you use something the worse your life gets then to me logically that means it's not good for you.
Well, since you failed to really define what your "argument" was, it certainly makes it tough to counter. What is a "pothead" to you? Someone who eats a gummy on Friday night? Someone who takes a hit on a joint handed to them at a party? Someone who uses daily? I suspect the number of casual users would likely surprise you.

The legal market in CA is struggling, at least all the small operators. Unless backed by silcon valley/ hollywood money, they are either selling gray market, or closing shop.
Where is your evidence that retailers are struggling?

There's plenty to suggest there's an oversupply, but that is a producer problem, not retail. I don't doubt SOME retailers may have problems, but no evidence suggest there's widespread shutdowns on the retail side.

Clearly, some of the producers are going to shut down. There's too many. There's not enough demand to support the quantity that's been produced. Doesn't mean they'll all shut down.

I'm not suggesting there isn't a black market interference issue. There is.

What is a pothead? Some people use that as a trope for anyone who uses it.

Here's a list of things that are currently legal that 'the more you 'smoke', use, consume, etc., the worse the person's life is:

Hamburgers, fried chicken, pizza, candy, cigarettes, alcohol, prescription drugs, exercise, water, salt.

Plenty of people choose to use it moderately, just like other people use the things I mentioned moderately. As mentioned, you likely know many of them, you just aren't aware. Just like they aren't aware you're calling these otherwise good and productive people 'potheads'.

That is way too many words to say, "I agree with you."
I don't agree. He said the legal market is struggling. That's not true. Producers are struggling. Too many of them. Not retail.

Farmers regularly face struggles when Grocery stores and restaurants have record profits. It would be a misnomer to then say: 'The food market is struggling'.

No, you can't just legalize it, tax it heavily and move on. Economics happen.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/ganja-glut-excess-weed-growers-seek-interstate-sales-98705910

Quote:

Across the Columbia River in Oregon, where the state's top marijuana regulator recently warned of an "existential crisis" in the industry, it's an open secret some licensed growers have funneled product to the out-of-state black market just to stay afloat.

California's "Apple store of weed," MedMen, is teetering with millions in unpaid bills, while the Canadian cannabis company Curaleaf has shuttered most of its cultivation operations in California, Oregon and Colorado.

Along the West Coast, which dominated U.S. marijuana production long before states began to legalize it, producers face what many call the failed economics of legal pot.

"I'm at rock bottom," said Jeremy Moberg, who owns CannaSol Farms in north-central Washington and, like many licensed growers, complains that the state's 37% cannabis tax leaves virtually no profit margin for producers. "I'm tired of running a failing business."

If you read the entire article, the problem is that, as they put it, it's like putting a fence around Iowa and trying to sell corn only within the state. Only so many farmers can make a go of it, if everyone is growing the same thing.

From one of my neighborly expert cultivators:
Quote:

It is unfortunate that most people will never get to enjoy properly finished flower, grown out to maturity (especially indoor grown). Commercial operations generally cut at 60 days max, there are exceptions but that is (sadly) the standard. Many amazing genetics will never see the light of day in a commercial setting simply because cultivators do not have the patience to grow them out to proper maturity, or their business plan does not account for long flowering cycles. Last run I took my GMO to 13 weeks (and i've taken her 15 in the past!), this run went 10 weeks for the Sour D to reach her prime. If i only get 3 indoor runs per year instead of 5... so be it, the flavors tell the tale and the quality is apparent.

The OP posted an article that is about producers. I was referring to producers. I don't interact with the "legal" dispensaries. I do interact with the LE side, the illegal growers and the state legal growers. There are also numerous articles and credible videos on the industry and it's associated problems.
