We are in a culture war, and everyone will have to decide what side they are on.

He's good but he's not that good. His song writing is better than a lot but not top tier. A lot of his lyrics seem forced and a lot of his songs sound very similar. That being said I can listen to Tishomingo five times in a row. Jason Isbell is the gold standard. So, maybe he's set the bar too high for other singer/song writers.

It really makes me appreciate guys like Chris Stapleton and Chris Pratt. They go out of their way to stay out of political preaching (which tells me they don't lean left) and focus instead on entertaining their audience. They don't see themselves as activists trying to inform the public.

You maaaaay want to look into Stapleton a little further.

I haven't heard Pratt sway into politics, but his acceptance speech at one of the awards shows where he talked about God and faith was awesome.

Ah, disappointing. Though he's still considerably less vocal than most of the superstars, James Taylor is another good example and one of the few on the left who supports causes on his own but doesn't constantly preach to his audience that just wants to appreciate the music. I don't dig into every little thing they say...again I think most of them are going along to get along.
