Only way this story could be more fun is if USSS Director Cheatle came from Bud Light and not Pepsi.

My 9 year old son only knows them as the Redskins because I refuse to call them by any other name.

21-months post incident, Shane Gillis and Post Malone emerge as flag bearers for rehabbing the bud light brand.

So they've gone from paying a twink 'n a tub a couple grand to post on tiktok,

To making the Dana White, Peyton Manning, Post Malone and Shane Gillis even more rich.

Putting money in the pockets of the very people they raged against while losing billions in marketshare, in perpetuity. You can't really screw up more than that.

Cemented in history as one of the greatest business **** ups of all time.

And second only to the California fires as the greatest DEI **** up of all time.

That commercial sucked. And I like Shane Gillis a lot. The ones where they switch roles are hilarious.

This one just sucked.

I will say I liked the commercial they did with the tu fan at the sports bar eating wings and the guy that went to the wrong set sitting there with the punk (or whatever) band.

It was funny. Good for them, it's what their brand USED to be about and associated with.

I'm not a beer snob and used to not think twice about loading a box of BL in the cooler for a river trip or a day at the beach. No more though. They can get the commercials right all day long, they won't win back the customers they insulted.

Their only hope is to SLOWLY gain back market share from younger drinkers who aren't aware of the history. That's it. Everyone else stopped drinking their beer (or never did in the first place) and will not ever be switching back.

Maybe in 20 years they'll be able to climb out of the hole they created.

the only way I'd ever drink Bud Light again is if they go back to those hilarious commercials they had in the 90s and early 2000s. For the great taste that will never fill you up, and never let you down...

Shane Gillis is a real man of genius though.

Recall that during the height of all this he never wavered on publicly drinking Bud light.

He went on two of the biggest shows/podcasts in the world where he cracked bud lights the whole time.

Doesn't change anything about what he was doing, and now he cashing a fat check.

If you've found a way to do nothing and get paid for it, you've won at life.

Dude gets cancelled and fired on his first day at SNL. Now 4-years later people are scrambling to have him cash their check and be on a super bowl commercial. All for doing what he was already doing the whole time.

Lol at all this.

You could tell after their initial backtrack from Mulvaney that they were trying to recapture their mass appeal while simultaneously keeping their original commitment to avoid marketing to bros again. With their current marketing campaign they're finally back to it, but it doesn't seem like their heart is in it. Who knows what will happen, but over a year later, they finally remembered who their target market was.

The full length commercial had me rolling the first time I saw it, very funny. The sip fan who said "there is something different about you, man!" is brilliant.

Dumb people forget things. General public forgets.

What they now learn is that guys don't forget when you **** us over. We don't want your woke **** and we will all remember. You have life long murican type bud dudes that will never touch it again.

They failed so hard that it'll be a few decades before they can even dream to get back to the same level

This. I was just over drinking age when it came on the scene in the 80's. Was my standard go-to beer right up until this episode. Of course along the way I found other beers that I enjoyed even more, although they were typically higher carb. As I aged and metabolism slowed, I tried to limit those and BL was the fallback low carb option to keep everything balanced.

But the minute that I saw that Dylan Mulvaney crap... that was it! Like in an instant, done with BL forever just as a matter of principle. Beyond that, there are better tasting options out there for light beer, and I was only connected to BL because of historical familiarity.

BL really was nothing spectacular, and because of that, when they screwed up with the Mulvaney transgender BS, it was too easy for so many to just say "adios!"

If they had a world class product they would have survived but they didn't...what they had was a world class marketing team and ironically that's what did them in when they turned that team over to woke. This will be a case study in academia for decades.

Yes, and some ridiculous metal dentures or something, from what I can tell part of his bit is looking as hideous/ridiculous as possible. I liked a couple of his songs around 5 years ago. I don't keep up with hollywood though, so maybe he is still a big deal etc. I don't really care, obviously, and am not a target audience/customer for BL...

Not that I drank BL, but would occasionally would, but there hasn't been an apology to their base consumer. Oh, they tried sending out something but it wasn't an apology. Like has been said, there are a lot of better beers out there. If I'm at a gathering and some knucklehead bought BL and that is the only beer, and I'm offered, I turn it down and go with water. Yeah, I know it is already bought, but it's about principle. Sometimes someone will ask "you not drinking?", and my response is "not drinking that".
