It's not. It will do things just as good as its programmer, only faster and with no fatigue mistakes.
Kind of like how Stockfish is only as good as the guys that "programed" it?

Yep. It can just think deeper faster.
I am not sure you quite understand how AI works. Sure, you can push the it can just think deeper argument but you can say that about a lot of "knowledge". You can put Stockfish in a room against the top 100 human players and give the human team unlimited time and they will never even draw much less be able to win. The AI makes moves at times that are completely counterintuitive. Humans actually study the AI games now as ways for coming up with new strategies.

Stockfish isn't creating the strategy, just playing deeper with fewer mistakes.

Well this looks fascinating
What bitcoin’s detractors don’t understand is monetary economics, computer science, software engineering, network protocols, and electrical systems.

It ain't much, but it's honest Proof of Work.

Anyone remember when Google undertook a project to digitize all of the world's books?

Project Ocean was what it was called. I think they digitized tens of millions of books from the worlds libraries and OCRed them.

In any event, the project was shut down at some point when publishing companies sued Google and it faded out of existence with the passage of time.

So my question is.

Is that database being used today to train LLMs?

Basically the entirety of human knowledge since the beginning of the printing press?

And of course that opens another can of worms. Patents should be for stuff that's been invented and actually made. Shouldn't be able to patent an idea.

That goes back to the 30s at least. Heck. They were patenting personal mobile phones before two-way radio came around.

Actually I would bet that ai could actually do that better than any human, with current tech.

Scan and normalize the field. Calculate every players potential based on game film. Put in other inputs and it could calculate from tendencies and capabilities and probably absolutely dominate.

People that invented all this scrambling to warn that it's a 'threat to humanity.'

Meanwhile Chat GPt is the #1 download and snapchat AI is the hottest thing going.

It's not a threat to humanity.

It's a threat to progress.

"AI" can't learn, it can only repeat.

I mentioned in another thread, the biggest investments and developments in AI will come from the entertainment business, and by that I mean pornography. Same as the Internet.

This will also be the genesis for guardrails and restrictions being demanded for and implemented.

Personally, I look forward to seeing what AI can come up with.

There will come a point in time within the next 5 years that AI will be able to create a personalized feature length movie with photorealistic visuals with a prompt. Now that language models are allow prompts to be entire books, people will be able to make their own movies with books.

It will absolutely devastate Hollywood and I couldn't be happier.

We are much less than 5 years away from this.

In fact, I think these writers might never go back to work.

I was being conservative with the timeline, but this will obliterate Hollywood. Why bother making movies when you can get a fully voice movie with a prompt?

All this still accelerating at a very rapid pace.

Seeing a ton of apps being created that bootstrap off the technology we are seeing.

If you can imagine it, a computer computer can render it on demand.

There's still an uncanny valley aspect to all this. But we'll eventually have AI trained to mimic human imperfection.

Allright. Here you go. Prime example.

Any **** bird with an iPhone can make a 4K video rendering ... of anything imaginable ... on demand.

All this about to bust loose.

It's about to get crazy.

People aren't prepared for this contingency.

Humans have outpaced their ability to deal with the sociatal consequences of technology they've created.

We've past the point of no return.

Bingo fuel. No going back.

Advancement in technology over the past 5-months has been at an incredible pace. Like nothing we've ever seen.
