Shouldn't every school have an armed security team by now?
That would help, but in the long run there are security measures that can be taken to limit attacks like this. There is some cost to it, but much cheaper than what we have spent in Ukraine over the last 2 years.
The vestibule they shot thru could be bullet proof to start, but then on the other side they were able to walk right through the doors in the admin. These should have smaller windows that a person cannot fit through, and if we are looking to secure, add a mag lock on a card reader that will secure past that point.
Most vestibules have a panic button now to alert police so that may be how he response and alarms were set off.
Need to limit low windows on the exterior and limit exterior access. It would not have helped here, but is he reason Uvalde was able to gain access. Everyone wants to park by their class and walk in, but you have to limit areas of ingress if you want to be able to secure a larger building.
