Ok but the concept of ghost guns is pretty cool and something my LEO friends disagree with me on.
I agree with your LEO friends. Buy regular guns. Ghost guns are a slippery slope...One example is air travel safety.....unless we can find a way to detect a disassembled ghost gun when it doesn't initially look like a gun. Do they still have to shoot standard ammo or do they have ghost projectiles? Serious question.
Oh lort...you probably believe in the Glock 7, that it is undetectable and that it costs more than you make in a month as well.

High density plastics, metal springs, metal chambers, metal barrels projectiles, etc. - all readily visible on standard security or in metal detectors.

Makes me want to buy a 3D printer
I was surprised they had to still add like $300 of metal parts. You can buy a 9mm Taurus for less than that, fully assembled. Of course, you'd have to go through a background check...

Radical Firearms is leading the way with 3D printing suppressors using a Titanium sintering process. They are damn quiet too because you can create geometry within the suppressor that is impossible to make with normal milling and machining technology.

There will be a market for 3d printed items, but by in large the major components of a firearm will still need to be made from metal in the manner that they are now. Barrels won't be 3d printed, at least ones that will have any semblance of accuracy and long life. Springs will also need to be traditional. Mags, lowers, even some slides might eventually get there, but I cannot speak to tolerances or longevity of 3d printed metallics versus forged and machined metallics.

I'd rather have the $300 in parts than the Taurus.

I have a Millenium II 9mm that shoots every time I pull the trigger. Steel casing, brass casing, new, reman...I guess you can turn your nose up at it because it's inexpensive, but it gets the job done.

My experience has been that the brand is not very reliable. Admittedly that could be on the user
