How else do expect to get rid of bacteria? There's literally no other way. Cooking it won't work.

Canadians know what's up with seasoning. Or not. I can't tell.

They can eat my Chili and the next day try to say it had no spice. But we can hear the pain.

Dang. I guess I rebelled and became racist when I had no use for the chile pequins and vinegar Dad put on just about everything. Didn't help that my brothers told me that they were M&Ms and scorched my 4 year old palette.

Listen here, last night I made chicken cordon bleu with lots of salt and butter, and a white wine sauce for acid notes. No spice needed!!

I can't say that soul food has much seasoning, but it usually has a lot of salt and fat in it - two things that activate your taste buds.

The reason white ppl don't season food is bc historically, rich white ppl began to think seasoning was for brown ppl who had to season their food bc they couldn't afford better tasting meat.

How stupid can this idiot be... Seasoning hides the taste of spoiled meat...The major spice "islands" were 8000 miles from white ppl centers... Spice was expensive...

If you've ever had actual African food in Africa and I'm referring to West Africa in specific, they have one variety of spicing--fiery hot. No complex mixture of spices and flavors and degrees of peppery hotness like in Indian food and various Asian cuisines. No herbal tastes or fragrances. A lot of self righteousness with not a lot to back it up.

I like it, but every time my wife cooks with it, I end up coughing because the cayenne is all in the air. Of course, we get the one that is salt-free.

Spices are awesome… but things like fresh herbs, peppers, onions, celery, carrots, and kosher salt are better every single time.

Ready for the spring. Got some pots with cilantro, basil, green onions, thyme, rosemary, and oregano growing on the porch already.

No, they aren't
Insert "Why not both meme".

A whole chicken with a carrot, celery stalk, thyme sprig, fresh sage and half a lemon shoved up its butt then sprinkled heavily with Tony's and roasted is pretty damn delicious.

So this debate started about a year ago when white millennials were posting videos about getting raw meat from the package to the pan without touching "the icky". Black twitter said you have to wash the meat, and by wash I think they meant rinse. It's wise to rinse off your meat and your produce before cooking or consuming.

But it seems black folks went to the extreme and started soap washing...and ffs some whites went extreme and started a trend of buying thin cut steak and "water scalding cooking" or sous vide thin steaks (which Asians do with Pho and other eastern dishes, you add the meat last and the hot soup actually cooks it.)

I've never washed a chicken breast before cooking. I didn't even know this was something people did. I agree with the CDC on this one, you don't want chicken juice getting splattered all over the place.

It was a joke man. Washing meat is absolutely filthy and disgusting. But considering half of Americans probably can't cook anyways unless it's using their microwave I'm not surprised the CDC had to put that out. And yes, was king chicken is a known method in the community.

The other hot debate on black Twitter was whether white people scrub themselves in the shower because apparently black people are bogged down with the notion that they must be sparkling clean and not ashy to fit in society.

The fact that white people are blamed for this hangup in 2022-2023 is mind boggling considering today's 20 year old was born after 2002 and had literally zero involvement in any sort of racist society.

Blacks have been soap washing meat for years, this isn't a new thing. It's been the norm for them for a long time. They literally did mean wash the meat with dish soap originally.

Some poultry is already washed in a chlorine solution after slaughter. So you might already be eating poultry washed in "bleach".
