Yeah, that has crossed my mind. Having saved for retirement will somehow be declared racist or white privilege.

A few years ago someone was suggesting that all IRA's and 401K's should be rolled into the Social Security Fund. They said that would be "Fair" because a lot of people never saved for their retirement. I guess that would be "re-balancing" of retirement accounts.

It will be proposed within five years or less to start a conversation and Republicans will ultimately compromise on it.

It seems when comes to other circumstances we ALWAYS blame and seek resolution from the source of purchase. Heck, even the war on drugs targeted the sellers of illegal drugs, not the addict who makes the purchase. Get your reparations (if you agree they should be made), from the people who made the initial sale of slaves. I doubt few will make the trip to Africa to approach the people who sold their ancestors into slavery. The consumers (and their descendants ) are logically not responsible, although a civil war was fought partially regarding the issue of slavery.

5 million per qualified black person with a black population of 50,000? How the actual **** does the city of SF propose coming up with, what has the possibility of being, $250 billion?

If this reparations madness goes nationwide how long till will we are also saddled with paying for a universal income? The Treasury Department is gong to have to get a hell of a lot more printing presses in order to keep up with all the money we will be printing. Going to HEB with a wheelbarrow holding 10 million dollars is going to be fun.....of course I'll only be able to get a loaf of bread with that.

Vast majority of people have nothing in savings so most people are going to support it.

The average retirement nest egg is only $40-80k. That will cover one year of living in retirement if you are eating Raman every meal and then you are done.

Those of us who have saved will have much of what we've saved stolen.
