The next big war is going to be in mega cities. I think the days of finding bad guys in the desert is over.

Drones in big cities will definitely be a thing.

There has been a lot of speculation that it was not shot down which was the reason we avoided flying them by Iran and the Iraq/Iran border for a while after the incident.

Turkey will not need the cash cow called NATO, yes they are a member in name only at this time but why would they leave? Turkey is a political nightmare, they still have 50+ B61 adjustable yield American nuclear bombs in Incirlik, consider the Kurds terrorist, and have helped Syria and other middle eastern countries fight Israel. They started buying Russian weapon systems like the S400 and aircraft over a decade ago and continue to use whoever gives them the most money, mainly Russia and China. As long as Turkey stays in NATO they receive millions a year

There's video of it crashing into the ocean. Iran displayed pieces of it. They shot it down.

In a statement, General James Hecker, who overseas the US air force in the region, said:

At only a half mile wide on average, that means it would be easy for NATO/Turkey/US to easily detect any craft moving anywhere in the water column. Nothing is going through there that we don't know about.

first post said they did fuel dump in front of it, I guess that could cause the drone to stop working

I don't think a fuel dump would be very successful because I don't think a fighter can match speed with a drone. It's too slow, and the fighter would need to be close because dumped fuel atomizes right away.

If they said it hit the prop it's hard to think of anything but a plane part hitting it somehow

So you condone the downing of American planes in international waters? And repeated intercepts in international waters? Or maybe you think summoning their ambassador for a few words is enough? What about after the next incident or the ones after that?

You concerned moderate fan bois will have us giving Putin palettes of money like we gave Iran money before this is over.

What is Biden going to do, place more useless sanctions on them which they are circumventing through China.

I really don't think it was intentional. I think the pilots were being hot shots and one slipped up.

And no Russia will do no such thing.

That's like me taking my brother's fist and hitting him with it. "Quit hitting yourself". Article said the Russian planes had already dumped fuel multiple times on it and flown directly in front of the drone.

I grew up as anti-communist as one could be, I despised the Soviet Union. But I visited Russia in 2018 for several weeks and I can assure you that our under-40 year old population is genuinely far more communist than theirs is. No exaggeration.

Every time in this current situation I hear people refer to Russia as "communist" I have to wonder if they still think the Aggies are in the SWC. It's laughable.

From the moment you get into the Moscow airport it's as commercial as anything you'd see here. The fancy Gum department store is sitting right on Red Square, and at every site we toured for over 1300 miles the main thing emphasized repeatedly was the horrific anecdotes of the communist days, the horrific stuff described in detail that American colleges and media won't even discuss.

Putin himself is every bit the murderous skid mark that most think he is, and I despise him, but it still makes me cringe when anyone tries to view this current situation through a lens that's several decades out of date.
