I treat everyone equally in both my professional and personal life. I guess I had a moment of wondering what I could have done differently and his reaction caught me off guard. The whole situation was just strange. I am not losing any sleep over it, but for some reason it bothered me for a minute.

I mean that's fair. You never intentionally try to hurt someone's feelings, but his reaction was way over the top with what happened. Each situation is different.

But this is clearly a young man, wearing full on make up like a girl. And he is shocked that some people might take him for a girl at a glance? The problem lies with him.

But yes, no one should ever go out. Intentionally trying to hurt peoples feelings, but you didn't do that.

No, this was obviously a male. When he got close I noticed the nails, eye shadow, and makeup. From a distance and just wanting some damn service it was not noticeable.

So that person wasn't presenting easily to be identiable as feminine? That is on them. If they failed to make it easy to see they wanted to be seen as female, then you shouldn't feel bad.

I was misgendered once. It was in a drive through at a fast food place where they could only hear me. The other 99.99% of times they always assumed I was a man but this one time the person called me ma'am more than once and I never corrected them because it was just too awkward. Either way, I didn't like being misgendered but I wasn't so offended that I felt the need to get my phone out and record a confrontation with a stranger like the trans mafia does.

When I was with Customs, we had a trans that went full to include having the operation. A very nice individual and I did feel bad for every once in a while, I had a "freudian slip" and called her "him". She just ignored it and went on as to what we were discussing.

The thing was that he was our IT specialist and transitioned during his employment so we all knew her as a man.
