TBF, Jordan was a better player on a per game basis. Even with his two lackluster seasons with the Wizards after coming out of retirement a second time, he averaged 30 points a game. Havlicek averaged 21. They were about equal in rebounds and assists. If Jordan hadn't retired in 94-95, I could see the Bulls winning 8 in a row.

On top of that, Jordan was just an incredible athlete and fun to watch because of how he could dunk. He had a lot of marketable style.

I miss how physical 1990's basketball was. That was the golden era imo. Early to mid 90's. You don't see that level of defense today either.

I took a class at my local trade school because I wanted to learn how to do some basic welding. The instructor there said the two biggest barriers to jobs in the trade are 1. showing up and 2. drugs, by a long shot. Race was not mentioned as a factor at all.

Same here. I worked construction for almost 8 years before deciding to go on to college. I did commercial and residential in two different states. Didn't see many black men in the profession, but the ones I did work with were top notch workers.

What hasn't been mentioned is Asians in construction. Aside from flooring contractors, I only worked with one Asian in construction.

The point is, it was identified as one of the top impediments to job placement in heavy construction as a negative drug test will kick you for most companies. It isn't race or whatever other nonsense Mayor Pete is blathering about, that's the point.

I got news for mayor peter, the mild to moderate skin hue individual in America is a big time player in construction. The next time you drive by some road construction, let me know how dark the tone of skin is of those in hard hats. He is so out of touch with reality and just like democrats everywhere.

And again, 25 years in heavy civil and industrial, I'm well aware of the impediments. I'm also saying that almost every company out there has work arounds for good folks that may pop on a test, it's quite common.

A huge one that ole Peter Puffer didn't bring up is that a whole lot of entities are now requiring background checks for everybody, even hourly hands and laborers. Especially if you work at any governmental facility, of which water and wastewater are usually classified as restricted facilities. Makes it that much harder to get good folks, depending on what the scope of the BGC is.
