Takeaways

  • The murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Donald Trump has exceeded the murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Joe Biden in every year from 2000 to 2020.
  • Over this 21-year span, this Red State murder gap has steadily widened from a low of 9% more per capita red state murders in 2003 and 2004 to 44% more per capita red state murders in 2019, before settling back to 43% in 2020.
  • Altogether, the per capita Red State murder rate was 23% higher than the Blue State murder rate when all 21 years were combined.
  • If Blue State murder rates were as high as Red State murder rates, Biden-voting states would have suffered over 45,000 more murders between 2000 and 2020.
  • Even when murders in the largest cities in red states are removed, overall murder rates in Trump-voting states were 12% higher than Biden-voting states across this 21-year period and were higher in 18 of the 21 years observed.

Quote:

In this study, we collected homicide data from 2000 through 2020 for all 50 states from the Center of Disease Control Wonder's National Center for Health Statistics Mortality Data. Data is based on death certificates collected by state registries and provided to the National Vital Statistics System. We chose CDC data over FBI data because it's more up to date and does not rely on voluntary reporting from counties and states. All states are required to report mortality data to the CDC; they're only encouraged to report crime data to the FBI. The United States Department of Justice has acknowledged that CDC data is more accurate. (There were four states with several years of missing dataNew Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming. In these instances, we relied on FBI numbers from the Uniform Crime Statistics.)1 To allow for comparison, we calculated the state's per capita murder rate, the number of murders per 100,000 residents, and categorized states by their presidential vote in the 2020 election, resulting in an even 25-25 state split.

You're dumb if you believe this is a reflection on Republicans.

Can't help but notice Manhattan doesn't want to talk about which party has near ABSOLUTE CONTROL over the black community for nearly a century now but has done nothing to uplift it like they promised

So curious that he doesn't want to acknowledge any of this

Yes, blame the black people and not the fact that segregation "ended" while my parents were in elementary school, and red states still have laws and policies ensuring their residents stay in poverty and make it harder to get out.

Look at the education and healthcare systems in most red states and ask why this is happening.

What laws? And be specific to the state and law.

And there it is folks! He goes straight for a childish level nonsequitor!

He wants you to believe that Mayors, DAs, City Councils and LEOS all collectively can't do ANYTHING in their own cities where they have jurisdiction!

So for the study to reach their proposed conclusion they had to remove Blue Democrat run cities from BOTH Red and Blue states to say the Red states still had higher homicide rates?

They could do a lot to cleanup their cities but without the ability to write state laws and decide how much to tax and spend they can't do *****

Can those states control the number of blacks living there? If Vermont suddenly became 80% black, it would become the most violent state in the union.

ANOTHER bald faced lie!

Apparently cities cant do their own budgets or laws or initiatives! Baltimore would be paradise if the state of MD would just let compassionate leftism work!

I mean this isn't just bad goal tending, this is an incompetent goalie scoring on himself at this point!

Before the 2020 election it was shown that republicans and their "party of law and order" was a sham. Massive rioting, property destruction and murders. Even had some parts of the US break away from the US. Nothing anywhere close to what needed to be done was done about any of it.

When Republicans want to stand back and point at the terrorist democrats and say "look at how democrats behave", people are mostly wondering what the party of law and order is going to do about it.

I mean, i knew you werent smart, but even this surprises me.

So you are telling all of us that the heavily R legislature and R governor of Texas have absolute control over Austin, Houston DFW and SA? So all of the defund the police, no bail, etc are being allowed by the State?

Do you really want to go there? Because i will warn you now - the message board beatdown you will take might not be recoverable if you do.

If it had a history of slave ownership, Jim Crow, segregation and institutional racism, maybe. If you dropped a bunch of black people there now it would be fine.

The study is conflating a 21 year crime trend to a single presidential election.

There is no need to look further.

Back up. Own your post smearing the state of Mississippi that is all attributable to the cesspool of Jackson and the cesspool status is attributable to the leadership of the self-decribed "most radical" (pronounced "Marxist") mayor in the nation, Chokwe Atar Lumumba. Behold his awesomeness.

https://dailycaller.com/2022/08/31/jackson-mississippi-chokwe-lumumba-water/

He's not alone. Radical Democrat (also pronounced "Marxist") mayors around the country have similar records on crime, poverty, and economic decay. That's the real explanation for crime rates in major population centers around the country.

The budget should be balanced, the treasury should be refilled, the public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest Rome become bankrupt.
People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.
