Yep. It is federal law on any and all motorized vehicles that a sound suppression device is installed. Has to have it, no exceptions. And the decibel rating must meet a specific criteria to be legal.

But on a firearm, a sound reducing device is somehow verboten and evil and we must beg for permission from the federal overlords, who can deny at a whim or take their sweet ass time approving. Or in the case of one ATF agent, would literally throw applications in the trash when they piled up on his desk and he didn't feel like messing with them.

I mean, if that doesn't make perfect sense...then what in this world actually does?
