I have some warped allclad and it still works perfectly on induction. If it's in the magnetic field it will get hot, warped or not. And the power of induction can warp them with ease. When I first got induction, I had to cook about 25% less power than what I was used to with gas.

Being class of 2023, it probably just happened to be the only thing they had at the apartment or house that he rents.
