What is OP's height and weight limit for having the balls to tell the guy he is offended? What if he was still 350 lbs but only 5 foot 4? What if he was 6 ft 5 but 180 lbs? What if he was the original size but in a wheelchair?

How many of you Texans here who support flying the confederate battle flag do so on your own?

Does your vehicle display it? Do you fly it in front of your house?

I'm sure for many of you the answer is "yes."

It's just that I don't happen to see many confederate battle flags in my journeying through Texas. I guess it's fallen out of favor.

I would bet the answer is zero. Why are all of your posts so cringe?

Here's some attention you so desperately crave.

That must be why so many Yankees and Californians are moving to Florida and Texas

To join the confederacy?

We are losers down here.

I was talking about the CSA.

Nobody in this discussion fought in the Civil War or had anything to do with it.

Nor did any of us own slaves.

Maybe some of us just like the look of a flag. I like rainbows. Doesn't mean I am gay.

So it's purely the aesthetics of the flag that you like and nothing more?

My high school mascot was a Rebel. We flew a Confederate flag, and had Dixie as a fight song. Even the black kids and Mexicans did it. No one cared. That was back in the 80s. In the years since then, they have dropped all that and changed to mascot to a bird. I still don't care, but liberals still do, apparently.
Did you go to Albert Sidney Johnston in Austin? I was in the class of 89, but they stopped bussing in 88 and everyone went to Anderson.

I remember my art project was painting AS Johnston in his Confederate General uniform. I'm not a good artist so it was stressful.

crazy to think that back in 1987 that was normal, imagine what it would be today if you had teenagers painting confederate generals for pep rallies!

I wasn't offended in the least. I just wonder what confrontations he has in public. I'll bet he runs into 2-4 guys who ARE offended and none of them say anything then accuse each other of being wimps.

This guy was no deadly threat to me. If he was my solution was at hand.

Back in the day while looking for a product leak on LCR refinery property in Houston, we dug up a Nordstrom valve that had a nazis swastika. I had the welder grind it off the valve.

So you intentionally weakened a critical valve at an oil refinery that no one will see again for years because it's underground? And you did so because it had an offensive symbol of a dead regime?

That's some first rate virtue signaling

I'm going to say again, I think it was incredibly stupid to grind on a valve because it had a casting mark on it. You had no idea what you were doing to the structural integrity of a valve that is approaching 100 years old.

Nebraska ran into a similar situation at their Capitol, and said they weren't going to be stupid about it.

This

My dad, Mexican, was at a bar in Katy and chilling. Ending up talking with some new people that night. I think my dad spotted his swastika tattoo and asked him about it and said "you are talking to me and enjoying the evening together, but you have a swastika tattoo? What's that about?" The guy goes on to say that when he was in prison, you have to do whatever you have to do in order to survive and make friends. Prison isn't fun alone.

Fair enough. You seemed very interested in sharing why you liked the flag. I figured it was fair game since you offered the information.

I saw this Dateline a few weeks ago about a guy that was falsely convicted of killing his mother as a teenager. He finally got released out of prison after 20+ years and he said that he did join the white supremacist gang and get Nazi tattoos because he said it was one of the only ways he would probably have made it through alive. He said the first day he entered prison as a 17-year-old, He was almost raped.

He didn't say if he ever was, but his time was not pleasant, of course. They showed pictures of him growing up during his time over the years. The case against him really was BS and I can't believe he was ever convicted.

Even some of the jurors now say they wish they hadn't found him guilty, and even at the time didn't really think he was but since the majority wanted him guilty and "wanted to go home" they convicted him. Just really sad.

He said he never believed any of the Nazi rhetoric, and found it abhorrent, but he wanted to survive. Since he has been released, he has had them all covered over with other designs. And he also is a very big dude at this point.

This can't be because Democrats have assured us that there are white supremacists and Nazis on every corner in America.
