Best cities to live in America: https://www.niche.com/places-to-live/search/best-cities/

The Woodlands also beat out Overland Park, Scottsdale, and College Station for best conservative city to live in America: https://www.niche.com/places-to-live/search/best-cities/?politics=conservative

If you are looking to escape the crime and rot of liberal urban areas, come to the Woodlands. Best city to live in America. Even the Liberals agree.

Orange Beach, AL and Gulf Shores, AL is really nice too. Kinda suburbs of Mobile or Pensacola.

Did Woodlands get rid of rash thugs driving up from North Houston/Spring who had shootouts and thefts quite frequently?

Pretty sure if a city wants to prosper they want to be listed as the worst places to live in America by liberal publications.

The woodlands is excellent right now, but I have significant concerns over its longevity. Another massive apartment complex going in on sawdust just south of town. Friend of mine in panther creek said they saw dramatic increase in crime recently that coincided with I believe an old assisted living facility being converted to some form of government housing. Liberals will purposely destroy this excellent suburb, just a question of how long it takes.

Thw woodlands is a liberal councilman or mayor's wet dream. But it is mostly upper class white people.

Like anything in life, I'd add "for now" at the end of your post. After all, with a place as great as the Woodlands, once the upper class in Austin get bored, or fed up, they just might want to relocate to someplace much prettier.

I know a realtor there who claims there is a particular elementary school area in the Woodlands that has numerous mid-level Mexican drug lord families living in it. But I suspect these guys won't cause any trouble; they've got too much to lose now.

I believe this to be true. Have a friend who lives in Carlton Woods (most expensive neighborhood in town) and he says this is true. Although these people are not nearly as likely to cause problems as having people who live in government housing will be…

Went to the Woodlands Mall for the first time in years recently. There was a surprisingly high number of Mexicans in the crowd. I too have heard that the new village south of Spring Creek had a lot of Mexican nationals escaping cartel violence.

Oh, they'll cause problems. Just not directly, and not in person.

Do you think Biden hasn't caused you any problems because he hasn't stolen your tires or robbed the nearby convenience store?

The stories about these people being in Carlton Woods are a decade old and The Woodlands is still a great place to live. I worry much more about the federal government purposely adding government housing to try and bring down another suburb.

Wife is from there. It really is a bubble, super low crime, and about as perfect as a community can get. I am not a huge fan, because I don't like being smothered by nothing but trees, but this ranking does not surprise me.

My wife worked the Kroger pharmacy back near Carlton Woods for a year and a half. She could not stand these uppity Mexican expat ladies. They would often be dressed like gaudy wives of mob bosses and acted like they thought they were literal royalty...I am sure they probably were in Mexico. I believe one got angry and called her Chinese once (she's Korean). She always wanted to tell them to go back to Mexico because they ain't sh** here lol.

Not saying these are all cartel peeps, but a lot of them are very wealthy and hail from Mexico...so how many degrees of separation from violence and corruption could they be? Granted, some could just be honest rich business people trying to escape cartel violence.

What do all these cities have in common? White flight. Is that anything to be proud of?

A lot of wealthy Mexican nationals have discovered the woodlands as a safe place to raise and educate their kids and learn English. The Woodlands must be advertised down there. The families in my neighborhood and all the ones I've met over the years have been pretty great. They might look uppity with all of the wives driving their range rovers, porche cayennes, and escalades around the township, but they're usually very nice families and business owners. There could be some connected people in Carlton woods, but I believe the cartel jokes are 95% just that - jokes.

It's not so much white flight as socio-economic-flight. The Woodlands is no white Mecca. It is full, however, of a lot of folks with similar educational backgrounds and socio-economic statuses. And somewhat similar values. They want to live someplace that's relatively low crime and that has good schools for them to send their kids to. Easy access to entertainment, shopping, parks, etc. is a big plus.

Democrats have destroyed every urban area in the country with soft on violent crime Soros DAs and Soros judges. Anyone who cares about their safety is leaving these areas. Asian Americans, Latino Americans, and African Americans want safety too. They have abandoned crime ridden Harris County for Fort Bend County. Are they racist too? Is that white flight too? MLK talked about content of character over color of skin. MLK would definitely be a Republican today.

Apparently lots of Californians are moving into the Woodlands as well.

Rent for a 1 bed 1 bath apartment in Woodlands near the lake is now $4000/month, up from $2500 a year ago

This whole rich mexican nationals in the woodlands discussion reminds me of this reality show that was supposed to happen a while ago. It was called "Latinas of the Woodlands." I wonder whatever happened to the show, the clip below looks good lol. Im sure the Woodlands folks on here can relate.

They are leaving to avoid minorities in the schools for what they antiseptically call "better schools." Love MLK, too. Yes, he would be a Republican but what does he have to do with this discussion.

The Woodlands is only 30 miles from Plum Grove to the East. It is currently the largest Colonia in the US and will be the largest suburb of Houston in 10 years or less. Rapidly growing in all directions each year.

Yeah, you get it either way. Since that is the case, the solution is simple and boils down to one of safety: leave the city and move to the suburbs.
