The thread about Trump Jr selling bibles helped me decide to post about the daily audio bible. Staff - if this type of post isn't allowed please accept my apologies and delete.

I started listening to the daily audio bible on January 1, 2022. Daily exposure to the Bible was transformative. I'm a happier, better person than I was before I started. More willing to extend grace, more patient, and more aware of my blessings.

Daily audio bible is not political. It's focus is on faith, love, and endurance through reading the Bible every day. It's available through the Daily Audio Bible website, but also through apps that are available through the App Store for your device. It's free and offers the Bible read on a daily basis in multiple languages and in multiple formats. The version I listen to includes sequential readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, proverbs, and psalms. In 1 year, you will listen to the entire Bible read out loud, and get to hear proverbs and psalms 12 times (roughly once a month). I also find the discussion about the Bible, the context, and the prayer requests and offerings at the end of each daily podcast worthwhile.

I didn't know if I would stick with the daily audio bible when I started on 1/1/2022. I gleefully started again on 1/1/2023. Now is a good time to start. Really anytime is, but finding a daily rhythm based in faith has been transformative for me and could be for you.

Regardless if you are interested or not, I wish you all a happy and blessed 2023.

This is the best for sure: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-bible-in-a-year-with-fr-mike-schmitz/id1539568321

I find scripture to be very political in nature, as it guides us, whether a believer or not, in ways of good citizenship and ruling.

It is especially valuable in its portrayal of Natural Law, which is not a religious belief, but a rational one, and speaks to *many* of the topics we face today in politics and society.

Good post and I concur with the sentiments of a daily devotional. But to clarify, the We The People bible is not political. It just has a cool cover and includes some bonus historical literature. It's not the KJV according to Don Jr and is not the Trump version of the lolcat bible.

Republican : Bible sales
Democrat: Fetal tissue sales.

I think one is better than others.

It is indeed transformative. I try and read a chapter from the NT every night. Once I finished Revelations, back to Matthew.

There is nothing in there about being mean to your neighbor or "do you own thing". There is some words about recognizing those who willfully sin and deny Christ and shaking the dust from your feet. I often see comments about others about not judging, but that is often taken out of context.

Those voting for democrats should repent daily for knowingly supporting baby murder with their vote. They should say it out loud everyday, "Lord please forgive my sin of supporting baby murder".

I've been listening to the DAB (Daily Audio Bible) the last 5ish years I think now. Brian Hardin does a great job. Every year I take away nuggets I didn't understand or read/hear the year before.

Happy to connect offline if anyone goes through this plan and wants some side conversation.

The following is a politically related statement.

In a nutshell, Jonah finds himself on a storm-tossed ship that is going to sink because Jonah has rebelled against God by refusing to love his enemy. Jonah despises the Assyrians in Ninevah whom God has told him to go preach to, and instead boards a ship headed in the opposite direction of enemy-embracing-love." -many of us know the rest.

"Is there a message here for Christians navigating this current societal storm aboard this American ship? Are we tempted to blame the despised other for the waves that are currently rocking us? Are not political liberals blaming everything on Trump and the Republican Party? Are not Conservatives blaming President Biden and the political Left for every current storm we're navigating?"

Christians have clear marching orders from above to "make every effort to do what leads to peace" (Rom 14:19). Let me say that again: Christians are called to "make every effort to do what leads to peace."

I agree. Bryan does a great job. Particularly with discussions on the history behind the different portions of the Bible. Also - his voice is relaxing. Makes me feel at home. I'm really happy that my brother recommended DAB.
