This is a good thing. Taking your freedom for granted isn't justification for rotting in a third world dictator's labor camp. Hopefully this will be a lesson for her and others who travel abroad.

That is an understatement. We traded arguably one of the most dangerous arms dealers in the world for a person who's only contribution to the world, in dem's eyes, is that they are gay.

This is a horrible deal. It's only equitable if Griner was working for the CIA. Assuming that is not the case, we just opened up all Americans to being targets. It's as damaging to national security as the North Korean nuclear deal in the 90s. For having been around since the Cold War, Biden appears to have forgotten the rules of the game. Thank God he wasn't in charge when the USSR was an existential threat. NATO would just be English speaking countries.
I don't know which would be worse. This trade, or a hypothetical swap of Osama Bin Laden for Peewee Herman.
