We wear them so blood, abscess fluid and other nasty crap doesn't get near our mouths. Has nothing to do with filtration. If it's an aerosolizing case or suspected TB or whatever, we wear N95s.

Wife and I caught it for the 1st time this month on the 6th for her and 9th for me (positive test wise) respectively. Other than some minor differences in symptoms we had it relatively mildly and it went away after about 7 days. Day 2 to 3 sucked for both of us, day 4 and 5 better for us both but we each lost our sense of taste and smell day 5 respectively. Took 3 days to get taste and smell back. It was like some really really bad allergies for me with a dash of asthma type symptoms thrown in..wife had severe body aches and headaches instead of asthma symptoms.
The weird part is we had almost the exact same time frame on symptoms.
