I wish we could block responses about Dylan from showing up on this thread. We all know it's weird she waited and I'm sure more on that will come to light in the trial, but she had nothing to do with it. This thread/case is captivating, but that portion of it is annoying.

100%. Pleas move on from this. It's literally an unanswerable question at this point (and maybe forever).

Great! What do you want to talk about? If you don't have anything further to say then move on otherwise let us talk about this. This isn't a News Post where you get current updates on the topic. This is a discussion forum where we discuss what we think. If you just want to consume I would recommend news outlets.

it is annoying because there is no information or evidence provided anywhere by anyone in authority to indicate such

it is entirely speculation and conjecture by people using made up information to reach that conclusion.

sure at some point in the future there may be a connection.

but there is none whatsoever at this time with the information that is available.

Are you kidding me? No evidence that something is crazy? You hear your roommates getting murdered, and see the murderer walk out, but you wait 8 hours until your boyfriend calls police!?

That is crazy and the very reason we are discussing it. Dont act like we are impugning an innocent woman in some sort of witch trial. We are appropriately speculating.
you have no information of any value to work with here. you have nothing but incomplete information.

you have very specific statements from the affidavits that provide minimal (at best) elaboration.

hell some of you idiots were in here days ago arguing for hours like "she was standing in the hallway, frozen while the killer walked by her!!! HOW DID HE NOT SEE HER!!!!!!" when the ONLY thing the affidavit said was "she open her door and saw the killer". Nothing about she opened the door entirely where the killer could see her , or whether it was opened only a crack and was peering through in the dark."

It was hours of "how did he not see her"..

You are getting yourselves into lather thinking you have the relevant information or details.

so yes, we are having this conversation, because WE DO NOT.

And they talk about it with such bravado and are so sure if themselves it's wild. Its going to be hilarious to see how wrong everyone here is when trial starts.

It's like you guys don't even know what this thing you are reading is about?

You want fresh content, read news boards. You want discussion where you can see my username and scroll past it to read another post...go ahead! I don't see why posts irritate you so much! Move on! Block the people saying things you don't want!

Your "move on" posts are worse than the speculation posts!

^that's a disgusting characterization.

NOWHERE in that affidavit does it say she heard someone being murdered.

That should be a bannable offense on here. where the hell are the mods.

It says she
a. heard what she thought was a roommate playing with the dog
b. heard someone say "there's someone here"
c. heard someone crying

and she saw someone in a mask walk out, she had no clue anyone was hurt or dying.

that's it.

Not only that all we have are the portions the police chose to put in the affidavit. You know almost nothing but you want to condemn something and someone as crazy.

You ARE impugning a woman based on very little information.

It doesn't have to say in the affidavit because they are dead. She DID hear the roommates getting murdered. It's not speculation or conjecture that she heard them getting murdered.

She could have thought she overheard a bad night with someone her roommate took home from a bar? Only she knows what she believed was really going on and why she didn't call police or get involved.

The whole thing is tragedy and the only one to blame is the killer, not the surviving roommates.

You're an absurd drama queen. Of course WE know they were murdered the point is SHE did not. Which is what you implied. And by repeatedly basically slandering her I think it is bannable. Yes.

You think that was the first time one of her roommates cried? They are college girls in and out of relationships. One of them is probably crying weekly.

And it's not the first time she saw a strange person in that house either, guaranteed, it was a party house.

You're reading all kinds of stuff into this that is because you know what happened.

I listened to an interview with Alan Dershowitz where he compared this crime to that of Leopold and Loeb, who committed one of the most famous crimes of the 20th Century. For those wondering how a highly intelligent man studying criminology could make so many stupid mistakes that crime is a great example of how the perfect plan can fall apart when a brutal murder takes place despite meticulous planning.

Leopold and Loeb were both incredibly intelligent young men that graduated from U of Michigan as teenagers. Leopold was set to attend Law school and Loeb was already in year 1 of Law School at 18 years of age. They were obsessed with Nietzche's "Supermen" theory and thought they were so intelligent and perfect they were above the laws and morals of the average man. They set out to commit the perfect crime including an abduction and murder to prove their intellect and for the thrill. Despite all of the planning and forethought Leopold dropped his glasses when they dumped and hid the body and they were traced to him. Their alibi quickly fell apart and they were caught.

You know (or presume) it was Xana because we know she was awake.

There was no indication in the affidavit that Dylan knew who was crying.

She believed the person that spoke earlier was Kaylee. And she believed Kaylee was playing with the dog shortly before that.

Kaylee had recently broken up with her boyfriend and between 2-2:30am she and Madison made 10 calls to the ex bf that they had seen that night (his phone was off). Dylan could have been aware of that as well.

There is no reason to assume she thought it was Xana.

Good points and Dershowitz may know a thing or two.

Have to mention, Leopold & Loeb sounds like a name tailor made for a British atelier, just sayin.

Back on topic, agree with the general sentiment regarding the criticism of the roommate who saw the perp leave. People should pipe down and quit trying to put conjecture on this piece of the puzzle.

People behave very strangely during shock. Add to that her memory / recollection during that period will be severely compromised by being in shock. Not sure if we know if the info in the PCA was based on one or multiple statements.

The ridicule she is facing is actually yet another glaring example of why you DO NOT TALK TO POLICE, without the presence of an attorney. Particularly if you are found at the scene of a gruesome murder of 4 people you know.

And this is a shame on Moscow PD to include her statements without context or explanation. I think it was an unintended error on their part, but error nonetheless.

Actually, Im just going by the affidavit. Dylan told police she heard what she believed to be crying coming from Xana's room.

The roommate said she looked out of her bedroom but did not see anything. She opened her door for a second time when she heard what she believed to be crying coming from Xana's room. She then heard a man's voice say, "It's okay, I'm going to help you."

as I mentioned before- the luckiest guy in the world is that ex boyfriend who shared the dog.

I like you Hawg and have nothing to do with you getting banned.....not even sure what that means. I'd have to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure the calls to the boyfriend happened between 2:55am and 3:10am.

It's my contention the girls went to sleep after that and were asleep when the perp walked in. Just a theory, and one I think is plausible, because those girls would be screaming like crazy if they are awake when BK walks in.

He's not highly intelligent. He could have left his phone at home and given himself an alibi the night of the murders instead of turning it off. He could have left his phone at home on the 12 occasions he was near the house stalking them. He could have parked a quarter mile away and walked. He could have wiped the sheath with a cleaner and worn gloves. He also could have just attached the sheath to a belt. He could have worn covers over his feet so he didn't leave a footprint.

These all seem like the most basic of things to me, and had he done them or even most of them, there's a really good chance doesn't get caught.

If he's parked a quarter mile away, they don't have his car on camera near the house. If he left his phone at home any time he went to the house, he has at least some semblance of an alibi, and he has no history of being by the house in the months prior. If he cleans the sheath properly or just attaches it to a belt, that solves that problem. Maybe the cops see a white Elantra on camera somewhere far away from the crime scene right after the murders, but just driving in the area at the time of the murders likely isn't enough probable cause to do anything.

Again, he is not highly intelligent.

My two cents.

He came across either Kaylee or Madison in passing and became obsessed with them. Or maybe both as they always seemed to be together. Scenario one is he approached them and was rejected, so he killed them out of rage. Scenario two, I think more likely, is murdering them was part of his twisted sexual fantasies.

Xana and Ethan were collateral damage. Maybe they woke up. The other two roommates could just as easily have been killed.
