A random guy walking through my house with wife and kids? Yes, red flags. A random guy walking in to a party house in college? Not so much. At a college party there would be kids from neighboring houses/apartments in and out all the time. Keep your door locked, and everyone stays in the main area.ea1060 said:So a random guy walking through your house at 4:18am dressed in all black wearing a mask, wouldn't raise any red flags to you after hearing your roommate cry/whimper, and hearing another roommate say "there's someone here"?? Come on! It obviously freaked out DM since she said she was in a "frozen shock phase", and she locked herself in her room after seeing BK.CashinOut said:
I don't know if it's just me working in a high school setting or what, but kids these days wear stupid stuff. Basically anything to stand out. It's Idaho, in the middle of winter. I don't think someone wearing a mask would raise red flags as a murderer walking through your house.
When people talk black mask, first think that comes to mind is this the typical movie mask with 3 holes cut out. Kids wear balaclavas when it's below 50 here, so I imagine the same in the winter in Idaho.
All this said to say, give her the benefit of the doubt. If I was in a house where people constantly were in and out and someone came in wearing a balaclava, not much thought would go in to it.

I thought they said mask covered mouth and nose, like a covid mask.
The geodata is usually the lat / long or DMS data likely accompanied in the pics or in the app settings. Then an algorithm would associate that with a geofence location to say "hey, look at me, I am at Hurricane Harry's for 10 cent you call its".aggiehawg said:
I don't use instagram so could someone who does answer a question for me? How does instagram geotag their users? Is that a feature or an option? How close would that pinpoint their location when they posted?
The surviving roommates phones are specifically mentioned but Xana's Kaylee's and Maddie's are not eventhough we know Xana was browsing tiktok and Kaylee and Maddie were both calling kaylee's ex Jack and were otherwise on their phones. I have seen some references to geotagging and wondered if that was possibly how BK could track their locations.Quote:

How accurate that DMS location is a function of the approximation by whatever GPS / geolocation hardware/software in the device. Then add in how often it pings the location.
Short answer, it depends. I would guess somewhere in the 5 meter to 25 meter range.
And Graham's and the Hall before that. Any coin, any drink. Beer and a shot for $1.02 (tipping a buck on your .02 tab got you to the front of the line next round).Emotional Support Cobra said:fka ftc said:The geodata is usually the lat / long or DMS data likely accompanied in the pics or in the app settings. But it wasn't a house party, it was 4:15am and everyone was asleep except for Xana and possibly Kaylee. Again, it seems obvious that the surviving roommate was scared/freaked out because she said she was frozen in shock, and locked herself in her room after seeing BK walk by. Those aren't the actions of someone who thinks its normal to see a random guy walk by dressed in all black at 4:18am.CashinOut said:A random guy walking through my house with wife and kids? Hearing your roommate cry/whimper but hearing that guy also tell her "I'm here to help" would cause my drunk self to think 'cool, she knows him. I'm going back to bed'

Nah. If we were, those 4 would still be alive.
Maybe, but I highly doubt that given 5 facts from the affidavit: DM (surviving roommate) heard Kaylee say "there's someone here", DM heard Xana cry/whimper, DM opened her door 3 times after hearing Kaylee and Xana, DM saw BK and was frozen in shock, then DM closed her door and locked herself in her room after seeing BK.DannyDuberstein said:
Another possible explanation is that maybe she was spooked/frozen initially, but if it's a house where roommates have people come and go, maybe that spooking was just temporary and she assumed nothing happened since he left and went to sleep. It was just a friend of a friend. A mask is weird, but with masking being so prevalent now, who knows how that was viewed.
The kind of thing where the next morning you are like "dude, your friend scared the **** out of me when he was leaving"
To watch is the speculation.Agzonfire said:
Is it correct, that the killer came back the next morning? If so, I can't believe more hasn't been made of that. Was it to retrieve his knife sheath?
I'm not following how anyone could believe Kaylee or Maddie were awake. They looked pretty drunk at the food truck, and I think if either of those girls are awake when the perp walks in with a knife completely dressed in black, you get screaming that awakens everyone in the house. I think Xana and DM were the only two awake.aggiehawg said:

Their phones were trying to call Kaylee's boyfriend (ex) with whom she shared the dog. Why? No absofreakingly idea.Fireman said:I'm not following how anyone could believe Kaylee or Maddie were awake. Or she could have just said what she thought the police (and family) wanted to hear "scared" and not "she has guys over all the time so I was ,Iike NBD and went back to bed".FTAG 2000 said:
It's easy in hindsight to say why didnt she think something was wrong. At the time?
This is just the warrant affidavit. Law enforcement would have gripped her hard on why she didnt go check or call for help to eliminate her as a suspect.

I wish we could block responses about Dylan from showing up on this thread. We all know it's weird she waited and I'm sure more on that will come to light in the trial, but she had nothing to do with it. This thread/case is captivating, but that portion of it is annoying.

At some point we have to concede that there are facts (known to others) that we don't know. It's best to not speculate and create, or spread hearsay.
The woman woke up and unexpectedly found four people she had a close relationship (housemates) brutally slaughtered.
Likely inches from being #5.
you have no information of any value to work with here. you have nothing but incomplete information.10thYrSr said:C@LAg said:
it is annoying because there is no information or evidence provided anywhere by anyone in authority to indicate such
it is entirely speculation and conjecture by people using made up information to reach that conclusion.
sure at some point in the future there may be a connection.
but there is none whatsoever at this time with the information that is available.
Are you kidding me? No evidence that something is crazy? You hear your roommates getting murdered, and see the murderer walk out, but you wait 8 hours until your boyfriend calls police!?
That is crazy and the very reason we are discussing it. Dont act like we are impugning an innocent woman in some sort of witch trial. We are appropriately speculating.

you have very specific statements from the affidavits that provide minimal (at best) elaboration.
hell some of you idiots were in here days ago arguing for hours like "she was standing in the hallway, frozen while the killer walked by her!!! HOW DID HE NOT SEE HER!!!!!!" when the ONLY thing the affidavit said was "she open her door and saw the killer". Nothing about she opened the door entirely where the killer could see her , or whether it was opened only a crack and was peering through in the dark."
It was hours of "how did he not see her"..
You are getting yourselves into lather thinking you have the relevant information or details.
so yes, we are having this conversation, because WE DO NOT.
