The presser was fine. Hundreds of people have been working tirelessly. This is for public service, thanking everyone for efforts, and setting expectations on how to receive information as we move forward so MPD, State PD & prosecutor's office don't get inundated with requests they're not able to satisfy.

There was a strange call to a crime podcast/live streamer and some people think it was the suspect. Pure speculation at this point, but it's a weird call.

another example of the murderer inserting themselves into an investigation and/or conversation!

This and the 4chan post behavior makes me feel like he started wanting attention and couldnt resist, not that he wanted to get caught per se but that he had to tell someone to get it out of his system.

I think they should've just eliminated the Q&A portion, then would've been a fine presser

Yes and no. For a doctoral student to use reddit as a research device would have been anathema ten years ago, but now? The panel approving one's thesis could easily look past that. Academia is that poor these days.

Could have been innocent on his part, at first....He gave an email address in those posts. Could be someone responded via email and a conversation began?

The problem here is that he was only at WSU for less than a full semester. Started fall semester this year but goes off and murders four people about three months later? I think he was perhaps being coached? And an attempted copycat killer? Hence the question upon his arrest about if anyone else had been arrested?

Just spitballin' but that comment made me wonder.

Let me ask a question here:

What is the best way to dump a vehicle? One with crime scene evidence inside it?

My submission is drain most of the oil out, drive it until it seizes and sell it to a salvage yard since insurance won't pay.

Drive to Tijuana. Park it somewhere. Leave it unlocked. Walk back.

Bury it like in Hell or High Water

Just take it to Philly. That's closer and wouldn't raise any flags.

I considered that. It Chicago. Or parts of LA. Tijuana seemed safer to walk out of.

Drive it off of a ferry in the ocean.

Rip upholstery out. Bleach the **** out of it. Then leave it with the keys in a bad big city neighborhood. Submerging it where it wouldn't be found is best, but that's tricky to do. Again, you want it gone but you don't want it drawing attention your way

Take it to Monster Joe's Truck and Tow. Tell them The Wolf sent you.

Burn it out then have it shredded.

Taking it to Mexico and abandoning it there is an interesting option. Except entering through a border would record that.

Vinyl wrap exterior and rip out interior before the crime. Easier to get rid of one seat and remaining interior afterwards. Then remove vinyl wrap and drop in vat of acid

Right. The challenging balance is destroying what's inside without popping up on radar. Especially in a case like this where there's likely plenty of DNA at the scene, and while useful, they don't necessarily *need* the car

go to remote area, best at night to hide smoke (have a way home):

lots of spray bleach over likely contaminated surfaces - you can wipe down or not. let sit for a few minutes.

then douse the entire interior of the vehicle in gasoline. light.

makesmores.

head home.

Bleach doesn't remove the presence of blood. Wrecks DNA samples but still presence of blood is admissible.

Been wondering the same thing since this afternoon. How/why was his DNA in the database?

What state was he an actual resident of? Some states require swabs for various offenses.

It wouldn't be required for school.

Maybe they did a trick like on Law & Order where they follow him and take an item he disposed of. But in that instance, he would already need to be a suspect.

Looks like genealogical DNA.

Maybe a match on one of those submit your DNA websites or parent willingly submitted a sample.

Not from his DNA in the FBI system. But I'm hearing genealogical DNA going back through family trees. He had a criminal somewhere or a Me and 23 relative?

The FBI was following him for at least a few days, but who knows how long they have really been on him. It would not be surprising if they went this route to get some DNA

Poconos. They were hit by the storm.

Assuming FBI was doing surveillance, they could remove DNA from a finger print on the door handle before the freeze started. But might take a few days to get results back. Winter storm delayed some processes?
