Outside of Texas, all of those states are a drain on the US. Outside of Texas, those states have the GDP of third world countries. Texas would be better if on its own.

Putting it to a vote is in the Texas GOP platform. It needs to be put on the ballot for Texans to voice their opinion (even if the majority opinion is to go down with this sinking ship).

So, if someone votes for secession l, can they still lawfully purchase a firearm ? There's a question on the form as to allegiance.

Are there liabilities? Of course. Is there world-class infrastructure, agriculture, and natural resources? Absolutely. No Brainer.

The flyover country makes the elite areas possible. Looking only at GDP is ridiculous if you can't get shipments of feedstuffs and raw materials down the Mississippi into the intercoastal, or ship refined products to markets upriver.

I don't want TX to secede, yet. I certainly don't want to fight anyone or go to war over it. But I'm open to the idea of some kind of peaceful, cooperative "TEXIT". Why stay in a bad marriage? There is clear animosity between several states and also between states and Fedgov depending on who is in office. I feel zero loyalty to or compassion for coastal, leftist citizens. They feel contempt for most Texans and others in "flyover" country. Why is it "impossible" to come up with a peaceful resolution to a growing and festering problem?
