There was a story on the local evening news today that our Athletic Director would be responding to whether the instrumentals from Kayne's "Power" will be played as part of our football intro going forward. The response is to occur on Thursday.

Normally, a public response indicates it will be cancelled as otherwise why would we address it in a public statement?

I fully expect the background of any artist or song writer played by our DJ at football and basketball games in the future to be vetted thoroughly as well for racist, misogynist, homophobic, ableist, etc. statements because by playing any of their music we are obviously endorsing all of their statements.

Absolutely, Adidas took a $250,000,000 loss by terminating the contract. They want Ye nowhere near their brand to include Power as our intro song. A&M is one of only two Adidas brands in the SEC and will flex it's marketing power to force a stopgap.

0.01% - Odds that anyone at the Adidas HQ in Germany on their Finance or Legal team has reached out and coordinated with the people working the A&M account knowing that we play 15 seconds of a Kayne song and then calling Bjork or Banks and pressuring them to kill the segment we play as part of the intro.

And if they did, what did we ask for and get additional in return? Did we get more $$$ out of the Adidas contract. Another $1M perhaps? Highly doubtful all around.

I haven't even followed this Kanye saga that closely and am indifferent on him as a whole both musically speaking and on his whole persona (although I do realize he's extremely talented as does every writer from Rolling Stone to Billboard to Pitchfork to you name it...until this week) but this all seems extremely ridiculous to me.

I liked the revivals he was hosting for awhile. They seemed genuine enough to me and certainly inspiring to everyone around him.

Is there a thread on here someone can link me to that entails what it is that he said that was so wrong or considered "hate speech"? Or was it simply wearing a White Lives Matter t-shirt and doing a sit down interview with Tucker Carlson that sent all of the woke losers into a cancelation frenzy?

2. wore a white lives matter tshirt and verbally supported the idea behind it
3. The interview
4. made comments re: Jews controlling the music business, etc/

so all of wokedom and the chicken **** scared corporate interests decided it was time to cancel him.
