If the want to discuss anything prior to Jan 21, 2021 they can pound sand.

Trump could literally murder someone in Times Square whilst President and your only remedy is impeachment and removal from office. This committee has no legitimate claim to compel him to testify on actions he took as President. Again, impeachment was their time for that nonsense.

Former presidents can obtain classified material from their own administration, and, as a matter of practice, only a request to the archivist of the United States is required.

The inquiry is about the events of Jan 6th, who he talked to and the substance of those conversations. Those all occurred while he was POTUS, and privilege survives past the term of office.
