If our hazing had gotten out, coaches would have lost their jobs. The world has changed so much.

What does this have to do with politics? Feels like a Zoo thread or General Board type thing.
I played football with a guy who went by "Uno". He got popped with a towel in the locker room when we were sophomores during two-a-days. You can figure out the rest.Dirty-8-thirty Ag said:
We got popped with towels once or twice in a joking manner by a couple guys we were friends with on varsity when we got moved up and we did the same to guys we were friends with when they got moved up. That was the extent of anything done to players that could have been considered hazing. We all thought it was hilarious, even the guys getting popped.

Lol I am, but it's going to take a lot of therapy on the tax payers dime for me to recover.
This isn't reflected in this thread at all. What are you talking about?AndesAg92 said:

Hazing across the board is wrong. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of the TA culture.

The 09ers in Alamo Whites are always up to something ... and are used to getting away with most everything they do. I should know. I lived there for awhile. I'm a bit surprised that this event was publicized and that punishments were administered. Whoever reported it must have just moved into that area because he/she obviously didn't know the "rules of the road" in that neighborhood.
No kidding. I thought baseball players had the market on this kind of dewshbaggery.HTownAg98 said:
What the hell is with the homoerotic hazing incidents? The worst thing we did in high school for hazing was make all the new varsity players put on their street clothes and walk through the showers (we were nice and told them to take off their shoes and belts so the wouldn't be ruined). Now, they're making them eat ass oreos?
Did we go to the same school? I know a similar story of an "Uno" that was hung like a horse.Urban Ag said:I played football with a guy who went by "Uno". He got popped with a towel in the locker room when we were sophomores during two-a-days. You can figure out the rest.Dirty-8-thirty Ag said:

Wrong. There hasn't been any hazing in the Corps since it was done away with in 1912. Says so right in theAndesAg92 said:

Gotta keep the riffraff in line...
Every actor has a back story of waiting tables. Guy had to make a living before Big Adventure.
Pee Wee's stand up routine before he hit the big time had some adult themes. That was where I learned about show mirrors.

Can't tell if serious. There has been zero hazing in the corps since 1912? Perhaps officially and condoned by the organization but if you really think there hasn't been hazing somewhat regularly since 1912, we should prob just not discuss bc we're so far apart on stance.

This goal to remove hazing is an effort to stifle a natural human tradition relating to rights of passage. I think the problem is that humanity went absolute nuts in the last 30 years and these ****ed up people started using what was once a right of passage as a means to bully and act out their twisted anger.

When done properly, hazing is an effective means of instilling strength and resiliency among a group while increasing their overall connection between each other.
When you have peoples lives in your hand while you're calling a log, the last thing you want is someone panicking because they're in a stressful situation. That gets people killed.
Hazing in Bonfire at least is a necessary thing.
