Everyone has the same capacity of rights with equality, but not the same capacity of talent and hard work.

Equity is communism, everyone's bars are lowered to ensure equal compensation and results.

Am I allowed to think that I have built more equity into myself via formal education, work experience, and such than most...And this makes me more well rounded than those competing against me?

Or did i get that equity b/c of some attribute at birth?

Equality: equal chance.
Equity: equal outcome.

Libs 100% want the latter.

You should let the democrats know that….

The ideal we should strive for is equality before the law and equal access to the opportunity of K-12 education

Taking advantage of these two is what will help you maximize your opportunities but your individual outcome will still be defined by a combination of of your genetics and work ethic which no amount of government can change

But of course our Marxists are full bore on Equal Outcomes (Equity) because of course EO require massive, biased totalitarian government to even attempt (feature, not bug)

Quote:

On January 8, 1964, President Lyndon Johnson called on Congress to declare an "unconditional war on poverty." Combatting poverty had been a big thrust of John F. Kennedy's campaign in 1960. Johnson introduced the War on Poverty legislation less than seven weeks after his predecessor's assassination.

Equity would be drawing lottery numbers to decide who is President and Vice President instead of actually voting for a ticket with Kamala Harris on it.

It's is precisely due to the lack of fair opportunity that Michael Jordan made millions in the NBA and I couldn't make a decent YMCA roster.

I declare the libs are correct and MJ needs to share his fortune with me due to unfair equity.

As long as ou rely on "equity" from the gov, you are doomed. Let them become dependent on gov teet. It worked out great for the native American population.

Everything you described is the result of poverty and discrimination. Do you really think that if the black community wasn't enslaved, chased out of towns, had their businesses burned down, and denied housing that they would still have gang culture? I don't think so.

You don't think so, but you'd be wrong. Is this post from 1950?

FYI there are more white people that live in poverty than black (though certainly a higher % for blacks) and I don't see rampant white criminal activity..... or poverty ever being used as an excuse.

When has equity? Name one country that fully embraced ensuring equity and didn't end up actually making all of their citizens poor except their leaders.

Oh there's an answer to this but don't expect Dork Brandon to be honest and say it out loud

That answer is that, in the name of equity, government seizes all your assets and wealth to be redistributed to others until everyone but the elite has been averaged out into what we Americans think of as lower middle class/borderline poor who are unarmed, uneducated and utterly dependent on government handouts from the elites and therefore rebellion is impossible

Not pointing out any one poster on this thread, because I don't want to get banned.

But, how can someone be so ****ing stupid and gullible?
It really makes me think some right-winger is trolling.
No one can be this stupid and dyed in the wool bought into that crap.

Kamala Harris's speech in California compares equality and equity. "Equity as a concept says to recognize that everyone has the same capacity, but in order for them to have equal opportunity to reach that capacity, well, we must pay attention to this issue of equity."

Absurd.

I have no problem recognizing I wouldn't be capable of their achievements no matter how hard I worked.

They look at outcomes and conclude "racism" since the outcomes are not the same.

And we can't speak truth about it, so it will go on forever this way!

Ben Shapiro has it right on breaking generational poverty. You need 3 to do things:
1. Graduate high school
2. Get a job
3. Don't have children out of wedlock

I'll add one more--get married and stay married, if possible.

Get a degree, get a job, get married, then have kids...in this order. If you do, you can get past being poor.

No, because some people are idiots. For example the person who made that statement.
So I have the same "capacity" as Albert Einstein had? I think not.
