Good for you. I'm still putting it off. Remember who wants to take that away from you.

If you ever have to use it in self defense of your family, no words, no hesitation and aim for the chest...your goal is to kill the perpetrator, nothing less.
I say that as someone that knows this very well, but hope I never have to find out how I would follow up on it.
License is still a good idea for when traveling out of State as several States have a reciprocity agreement with Texas. Getting a license also means requiring reasonable competence and knowing the laws about where you can and can't carry, gets you knowledgeable about how far rounds can go and penetrate, and much more. You can be an expert marksman from early use and practice and not know a lot of that.Quote:
If you are in Texas you don't need to pay for a license to carry. But not a bad idea for libs and females to get a bit of training.
Plus, when you buy a gun, you just show the LTC instead of waiting for the background check to go through...CanyonAg77 said:D-Fens said:

She is in Missouri. But for Texans, LTC is still valuable, for the right to carry in many other states, if nothing else

Well don't tell a judge and jury you were shooting to kill. Tell them you were shooting to stop or end the threat.

If it ever happened and I managed to have good aim and neutralize the threat without killing him, that's fine, no more rounds would be fired at that point...maybe a better way to put it is don't shoot to wound, an attacker can still injure or harm you.

A Smith and Wesson M&P shield
