The then FBI Director James Comey admitted to trying to set up the new President Trump by alerting him to the Steele Dossier, and then leaked the story of the briefing to CNN, which gave license to report on the false allegations in the dossier. So yes, the FBI and DOJ would do such a thing, and have done such a thing to Trump.

This is the most logical explaination for the raid that I've come across.

I will participate in federal elections as long as the state I am in remains in this union, but I would rather it be disbanded and like minded states can be free to form new unions.

If Trump or DeSantis win with a large mandate in both houses and get a GOP coalition together that is willing to take the teeth out of federal power and bureaucracy --- OR --- perhaps a Convention of the States that passes massive limits on federal powers........ I would be comfortable remaining in this Union.

But I have zero faith in this Republic and it's ability or willingness to govern in a fair and equitable manner at all.

Georgia demographic trends are going to make keeping power in Georgia very difficult. Lots of black voters pouring in from all over the country to Atlanta and metro.... it's the #1 moving destination for young black professionals.

It's working... no one talked about food prices, gas prices, illegal immigration, Hunter Biden, Pelosi's son or the economy today. The dems desperately need a distraction. This one was a doozie.

This was done by an extreme leftist who wanted to strike Trump and out a stake through his heart. The Dems are embarrassed by this judges action and they now realize this one act was deeply harmful to Dems this fall. It won't be forgotten.

Or it could all be something as simple as someone at the National Archives got antsy about the safety of national documents required to be preserved, especially with archivists no longer attached to the former President to scotch tape together documents he had a habit of destroying when he was done with them, in spite of numerous requests not to do so while he was in office, thought seizing the documents when he was away for the season would draw little attention, enlisted the aid of another federal agency to make the seizure, and now we have this kerfuffle. Never underestimate the power of sheer stupidity and ignorance.

(Of course no one would accept this explanation. Pundits on the left desperately want to feel like they finally "got him," and pundits on the right want to continue feeding the outrage that fuels their bottom line.)
