He wanted Bernie for president. What else do you really need to know? Sure, he gets some great guests and has some very interesting interviews, but nobody needs to know what is in his head. He is a pothead comedian, announcer, and interviewer. Not a political scientist, philosopher, or real scientist.

Just to be sure --- does he STILL want Bernie, or did he at one time? Its important to remember before Bernie sold out his side he was starting to look like the real thing at least in the sense of being after the plutocrats. "Feel the burn" and all that. There were things for one already on the left side as Rogan was, to like.
So it really matters--- is he for the twice sell-out Bernie now? Or what had he liked about him. Could be worth knowing.
As a mid 40 something, he wanted Bernie for president. I don't care which version of Bernie. It was the Bernie running against Hillary in 2016. And Bernie in the 2020 primaries. Bernie has always been a communist at heart, a never job having communist. I simply cannot relate to anyone, as an adult, that supports Bernie.

True, but he is the other kind of on the Left as well: wealthy. The wealthy don't have to worry about the communism because it won't impact them (not on the time frame they believe) so they focus on the social and activist stances of the candidate. Bernie had some of those. Again, for someone on the Left. He briefly appeared almost as a spoiler, a Left Trump, that the MSM cabal went out of the way to stop. Rogan probably was falling for that. Hard to say. Haven't seen enough range of his shows to have a definite idea--but have liked most of them.
I can respect that he picks his guests for the show - he turned Biden and other Dem 2020 candidates as well. But the whole "existential threat" line is just a cringy talking point of the left.

I'd bet he has declined to interview Trump under rules and restrictions that Trump has insisted on. My guess is he would have him on in a heartbeat if he was free to ask whatever he wanted.
He has previously said he declined to speak with Trump due to the conditions Trump's people put on the conversation. The first time I can recall that he said he had the opportunity to speak with Trump and declined it was on a podcast with Breaking Points, but he might've mentioned it on his own podcast, I can't recall.
I think he was trying to get on near the election and wanted Rogan to go to the White House for a brief conversation, and Rogan generally doesn't travel for anyone post-Spotify deal and he doesn't do short conversations.
And I thought what was so great about Rogan was his interest and ability in seeking to understand people of all persuasions. Allowing them to tell their story without judgment.
So I just listened to this part of the podcast. He wasn't saying he believes this. He was saying the Left threw out their ethics/morals because they believe it.

Just my suspicion here.
That sounds reasonable.

You'd have to educate me as to at what point was there a 'principled' version of Bernie that warranted serious consideration, just 3 years ago. I expect such 'deep thoughts' from the likes of Andrew Eaton/Dan Scott etc., but I am curious what flavor of Bernie you are recollecting here.
But you don't have to wonder who Bernie was when he talked him up. He was lying, demagoguing (other) rich people (never touches how many homes he owns, or how his wife ran up the cost of college degrees before killing the college she worked at), calling for socialized medicine, socialism, etc. Again, don't take my word for it, just listen/watch (there are transcripts available too);
For some humor, the leftists running the White House today melted down about Bernie accepting the endorsement, citing how homo/trans phobic JR is, and that he is also hateful to muslims (LOL).
The guy isn't perfect and doesn't pass anyone's ****ing purity test. But he seems genuinely interested in hearing what people have to say from all walks of life.
I enjoyed his interview with the Twitter folks along with Tim Poole. Poole is a bit much in the interview at times but he asked good questions. Rogan seemed to be pushing both sides at times in a fair way.
Again, we've got to move beyond these damn purity tests.

I have no idea why you think I am interested in a purity test.
I've stated I have no respect for his political analyses/judgment, as it is crap, and why. I rarely agree with you, but would throw your opinion in the same category about politics/policy. Hopefully you also have a successful career doing something else.
Whether it's ok with you or not, I'll continue to think Rogan's political analyses is crap, because he adores Obama and Bernie, and thinks Michelle would be a great president.

Anything you think about my political judgment/analyses isn't supported by any evidence. It's just your feelings, much like the liberals that you bad mouth.

Everyone calling Joe Rogan an idiot about politics is using the exact same words he uses to describe himself. He constantly says no one should listen to him on politics.

Rogan said the he gained 2-million listeners when they tried to cancel him over the covid and Nword debacle.
He got the word on Trump and said yes sir I like my money
No. It's possible to be very conservative and very much concerned about our nation and still not want to support Trump. It's concerning as all get out that this board doesn't see that as an option.

That a comedian makes a self deprecating joke about himself doesn't mean the joke has no truth to it, or that he should be taken seriously.

If you vote Biden over trump, or (anyone but Trump), how concerned about our nation are you really?
One of the first rules is to stop going to celebrities for political positions.
I don't disagree. Rogan sort of is held up as a political thinker/great mind though, by many, and of course he dabbles in politics with his interviews/show regularly with a large audience, jokes aside.
Rogan is loved because of the guests he brings on and the fact that he's a top tier interviewer. Period. He's very open about being socially liberal and I would have described him as being fiscally liberal until recently. He legitimately seems open to changing his mind.
