We got two of the dumbest people I've ever seen running this ****.

I've worked with a lot of dumbasses over the years, but no one anywhere close to this.

These two are like some kind of characters from a larry david show. They're over the top. Theres no rules that apply to them. Whatever they say rolls off them like water off a ducks back,

Just back from vacation & watching the news. This POS had 2 mental episodes threatening death with police interactions, then goes onto YT to express his desire to destroy more lives. This POS should never have legally purchased without that history of police interactions coming into play during the firearm approval process.

If those interactions were actually reviewed and subsequently approved without delayed approval pending higher scrutiny, that is BS.

The POS turns out to have been a hard left Antifa soy boy who dressed up & pretended to be a Trump MAGAite on his social media. It's time to recognize this as a coordinated attempt to undermine conservative values. This **** will continue (antifa fake outs, MAGA bad), giving MSM all they need to gain the narrative advantage.

The suspect was able to purchase the firearms used in the attack because his father co-signed his Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, which gun owners must have in that state.

Charge the father with accessory!!!

ISP did not have the basis to deny the suspect the FOID card because the suspect's family did not press charges against him after he allegedly threatened to "kill everyone."

In 2019 police get called to the house TWICE for this guy, once because of attempted suicide and then the second time because he had threatened to kill a family member. Police filed a report on the guy as a 'clear and present danger'.

Three months later the father sponsers the guy's Firearm Owners ID card application so that he can legally buy guns.

I am fine cracking down hard on parents of these mass shooters getting charged with manslaughter when they buy guns for little Johnny or help him acquire the guns if there is clear evidence of mental health issues and red flags that Johnny having a firearm was a bad idea.

Folks want their 2nd amendment rights okay, but it is your ass on the line too if you assist putting a gun in your's kids hands so you better know them.

Not sure the point of this one, Irish--

I guess you just mean that we all agree--right or left that the parent who cosigns on a document takes the full liability if anything goes south?
Irish 2.0
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Correct. If that's something they want to try to go with, I have no problem with liability being held by the person that sponsors the license in regards to an incident like this. Especially given all the red flags here. To me it is no different than liability on an insured vehicle that a parent is covering for their kid

In September that year, a family member reported that Crimo threatened "to kill everyone" and had a collection of knives, Covelli said. Police removed 16 knives, a dagger and a sword from their residence. Highland Park police reported the incident to Illinois State Police, which said in a news release Tuesday that family members were not willing to file additional complaints.

The knives confiscated by Highland Park police were returned the same day after Crimo's father claimed they were his, ISP said.

Over the next two years, Crimo legally purchased five firearms, according to Covelli -- a combination of rifles, a pistol and possibly a shotgun. ISP confirmed Tuesday that Crimo passed four background checks between June 2020 and September 2021 when purchasing firearms, which included checks of the federal National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

He was 22. He was an adult and bought the guns himself.

Laws will not solve this. Sorry.

Not the case in Illinois. His father sponsored him for a FOID which is required to purchase a firearm in Illinois. His father committed fraud by doing so because the guy had been under psychiatric evaluation within the last five years. This could've been prevented by the family.

Systemic failure including the parents. Hard to believe outcasts like this fly right through NICS. Expect (and prepare for) more of the same until mental health issues are addressed.

Well I can FINALLY agree with my friends on Texags on something about guns. Red Flags law DONT WORK. This clown should NOT have been allowed to purchase a dang gun and slaughter 7 people. Why have a red flag law and go to someone's house and take their knifes and swords and turn around and sell them rifles ?

Because that was in 2019 and he owned no firearms. There were also no formal complaints from his family or witnesses and not enough probable cause to charge and arrest him. The only way this would've worked is if Illinois police had a database of everyone they decided was dangerous and shouldn't own a gun, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be happy with that either.

You can't ***** about how red flag laws are going to violate gun rights and then ***** when they don't. Until Monday, he had every right to own as many guns as he wanted, regardless of his mental status, by the reasoning of most here. Until he's arrested and convicted, shall not be infringed is pretty clear, right?

Then FOID is unconstitutional.

Well it is Illinois, so there is that. I'm not debating whether or not I agree with their FOID requirements or it's constitutionality. I'm saying that your assumption is not correct in this instance. Illinois has some of the most stringent requirements in the country for purchasing firearms. All this demonstrates is that FOID doesn't work when the family and those close to the shooter don't do the right thing.

They had cause enough to confiscate the weapons and imo therefore had cause enough for a 72 hour hold for a psych eval. I don't get why that didn't happen. Must be something in Illinois MH laws?

The police press conference yesterday made mention that the family said he was under psychiatric care or something similar. The ball was dropped bigly here.

Anyone know what would actually be required by the father for the FOID? If it's something that could be forged, good chance the father had no idea. If he did know and sponsored him after the prior police and psychiatric issues, then there should be some criminal negligence culpability at least.

This crimo pos and the latest transformer "Less than meets the eye" Elliot should have a bare knuckle pay per view fight (same height and weight). The profits should pay for the funerals.

Using the same post to help save the environment, when will parent shaming commence? We should have a news channel that has the sack to stand outside crimo's parent's house and yell cuss words while protesting the absolute joke of a job they did raising their son. Do they have other children? How many people will they kill? The parents need to be made fun of and ridiculed. They need to be asked why they did not support the 4th trimester abortion of their son.

That knucklehead had NO RIGHT to purchase a gun. The red flag laws failed miserably, imo.
