NSIAP, but I saw the parents of the abandoned baby were found among the victims and are both dead.
This piece of **** will burn in Hell.
I was with you until you said this. This guy wasn't coordinating anything with anyone.Quote:
It's time to recognize this as a coordinated attempt to undermine conservative values.
yeah it is confounding, isn't it. Both reasons would get me banned so I'm just gonna stay quiet on this one.BuddysBud said:
A lot of words that say nothing.
How did she win a Senate seat? Amazing!
Quote:
The suspect was able to purchase the firearms used in the attack because his father co-signed his Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, which gun owners must have in that state.
uselessQuote:
ISP did not have the basis to deny the suspect the FOID card because the suspect's family did not press charges against him after he allegedly threatened to "kill everyone."

In 2019 police get called to the house twice for this guy, once because of attempted suicide and then the second time because he had threatened to kill a family's member. Police filed a report on the guy as a 'clear and present danger'.
Three months later the father sponsers the guy's Firearm Owners ID card application so that he can legally buy guns.
I am fine cracking down hard on parents of these mass shooters getting charged with manslaughter when they buy guns for little Johnny or help him acquire the guns if there is clear evidence of mental health issues and red flags that Johnny having a firearm was a bad idea.
Folks want their 2nd amendment rights okay, but it is your ass on the line too if you assist putting a gun in your's kids hands so you better know them.
He was 22. He was an adult and bought the guns himself.Pumpkinhead said:

Well I can FINALLY agree with my friends on Texags on something about guns. Red Flags law DONT WORK. This clown should NOT have been allowed to purchase a dang gun and slaughter 7 people. Why have a red flag law and go to someone's house and take their knifes and swords and turn around and sell them rifles ?
Then FOID is unconstitutional.Irish 2.0 said:
Not the case in Illinois. His father sponsored him for a FOID which is required to purchase a firearm in Illinois. His father committed fraud by doing so because the guy had been under psychiatric evaluation within the last five years. This could've been prevented by the family.
Well it is Illinois, so there is that. I'm not debating whether or not I agree with their FOID requirements or it's constitutionality. I'm saying that your assumption is not correct in this instance. Illinois has some of the most stringent requirements in the country for purchasing firearms. All this demonstrates is that FOID doesn't work when the family and those close to the shooter don't do the right thing.El_Zorro said:Then FOID is unconstitutional.Irish 2.0 said:

They had cause enough to confiscate the weapons and imo therefore had cause enough for a 72 hour hold for a psych eval. I don't get why that didn't happen. Must be something in Illinois MH laws?ABATTBQ11 said:Ags77 said:

Because that was in 2019 and he owned no firearms. There were also no formal complaints from his family or witnesses and not enough probable cause to charge and arrest him. The only way this would've worked is if Illinois police had a database of everyone they decided was dangerous and shouldn't own a gun, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be happy with that either.
You can't ***** about how red flag laws are going to violate gun rights and then ***** when they don't. Until Monday, he had every right to own as many guns as he wanted, regardless of his mental status, by the reasoning of most here. Until he's arrested and convicted, shall not be infringed is pretty clear, right?
What a surprise.Irish 2.0 said:
The police press conference yesterday made mention that the family said he was under psychiatric care or something similar. The ball was dropped bigly here.
