Threads like this make me wonder how it was back when the entrainment industry started having women and minorities be main characters in TV shows and movies. If the people said similar things, but instead of grooming, used another term to support their being against what was going on.
It'll be interesting to see in a decade or so, once the LGBTQXYZ community is seen as normal when on the screens, what will be the next thing some people will be outrages about.
And like previously mentioned, you can always just not watch it. Let the market decide and whatnot.

We USED to be able to not watch. Now, it is being pushed into every facet of media.
I think your analogy isn't as good as you think it is. Maybe in a very secular world, I could get your point.
But for a family of faith that isn't trying to expose our kids to a bunch of **** they're not equipped for, it falls very flat.

Competition is coming for Disney. It is getting cheaper and easier to produce films. Platforms and marketing are making it easier to grow an audience.
I don't love Amazon, but Prime is starting to carry more and more "clean" programming. I think Up Faith is one of the Studios. There is a second one as well. They aren't producing blockbusters but are growing an audience and could gain a foot hold. Thats how the Goliaths get taken down. They surrender a niche market and that niche provider expands as their capital and experience grows.

the problem is that homosexuals and trans individuals are less than 2% of the population.
But when you through 2 gay people into every ensemble cast of 8 characters it makes it seem like a huuuge chunk of the population is lgtbq.
part of how kids develop is looking at the world, observing what is normal, comparing themselves amd their group to it and either trying to rebel, conform, or look cool depending on the situation.
sorry. by the definition of normal 2-3% is not normal and using entertainment to try to make abnormal things seem normal and thus influence kids and socialize them into questioning the normality of heterosexuality is not good.
Bad for the kids. Bad for society. Bad for everyone.
there are ways to support lgbtq kids without convincing kids heterosexuality is abnormal and homosexuality is preferable.

Market decides nothing here. The Shame Game, or threats of it, has companies pandering with promos and products to show support, when financially it is a financial liability to do so for less than 3% of the population (add in a few more that either willingly support or are forced to compliance for employment).

I watched the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special this weekend. There's nothing like a gay bar scene to ring in the holidays

Or it could be fewer people wanting to spend that kind of money to have wokeness shoved down their throats.
If wokeness wasn't the issue than Disney + wouldn't be suffering the way it is considering it has monopolies on some of the world's most valuable franchises.
Fan response to all of the Marvel and Star Wars installments that have been "woke washed" have been dismal.
The only successful one thus far has been The Mandalorian and that is because Feige took the helm and prevented the wokeness.
Had no clue what Strange World was, but decided to take the kids as they wanted to see a movie. Color me not impressed.
Our kids are young enough that they just liked the silly characters and colors, but it lost their attention i.e. when we saw Paw Patrol movie they immediately asked to watch it again. This one not so much.

Encanto made 40 million over the same weekend last year. Box office numbers should be up comparatively this year given less covid fear porn compared to 2021. We don't know exactly why this movie is bombing, but to rule out the controversial content out of hand is ridiculous. In all likelihood, it's a combination of a number of factors and the answer is more nuanced.

YouTube red is an adjunct. HULU is part of the Disney package. You also forget to mention that Disney plus is not yet profitable and is underperforming against what it has been expected to bring in regarding both subscribers and revenue

But look to another Disney property ESPN as an example. ESPN has been a money loser ever since they started injecting politics into things and a huge financial drain on the Disney consortium.

I am quite certain that there are a whole lot of parents out there that aren't really aware of what Disney is trying to do and just want cartoons to keep their kids preoccupied.
It's far better to look at individual material to see what is popular or not than to look at the entire umbrella. From what the OP pointed out, these woke offerings aren't doing so well.

His old fiscal 2021 earning report links don't back up the narrative that Disney is losing money due to woke programming. I know that is what people want to believe, but Disney's 2022 earning reports don't show that either and Disney+ subscribers increased 38% compared to Ags4DaWin's 2021 total.

A lot of those have been out for awhile. This was opening weekend for Strange World. The Menu has been out for a week. Fabelmans has been out for two weeks. Black Adam has been out for a month. Black Panther has been out as well. Only Devotion opened around the same time. The Menu and Fabelmans both had opening weekend numbers similar to Strange World, but on normal weekends as opposed to one of the bigger weekends of the year.
Netflix is just as big a pusher to be fair........

Coco, Soul, Encanto, and Turning Red check lots of boxes on the diversity and inclusion checklist, but are also excellent movies that have "family is good" message that's impossible to hate. Contrast with the suckfest of Marvels "Immortals" with an ensemble cast that was chosen for eye rolling reason of diversity and inclusion with a lame plot.
On the gay front, if someone's family thinks gay characters are in and of themselves an affront to decency, I'm not at all sympathetic to that world view. Over the top and over represented gay characters are obnoxious.

Disney does not permit VidAngel to remove the profanity or adult scenes from its films. Not available on their platform.
