You can do it better, right?

Share your ideas/laws that have no chance of being implemented but you think would have a positive impact and counter everything we on Forum 16 complain about, along with some context.

I'll go first:
1. Government has a program to financially incentivize males get sterilized. This would be voluntary of course. The thought being that if you want to take advantage of this program, you shouldn't be reproducing and would be doing society a favor. How many issues would go away of the only people that had kids actually wanted to raise them right and could afford to?

2. Election Day should be a national holiday, and should line up the same time as when you pay/file your tax return. Taking this a step further, your ability to vote should be tied to you filing a tax return to ensure you are following the rules, buying into the system and have skin in the game.

1. The Monday after Super Bowl Sunday would be a holiday.
2. Beer would be free.
3. No speed limits on highways.

All govt. agencies shall be audited annually, including the Federal Reserve. The dead programs and departments shall be eliminated. All spent dollars shall be accounted for,.. to the penny. Strive for efficiencies in all positions and downsize accordingly.

I volunteer to head the effort.

Eliminate tax withholding on paychecks... everyone writes their own check.
Re-open mental health facilities and put people in them.
Term limits and no retirement benefits
Return nearly all decisions to local and state levels

That's a decent start.

Massive breakup of tech companies

Drastic campaign finance reforms

Total user control over tech data collection and advertising.

Banning online advertisement to social media users under 18.

Hard caps on social media usage for minors.

Ending of federal education dollars with strings attached.

Max cap on education dollars spent on "administration" as a percentage of total budget.

Double blind investment trusts for all state and national politicians.

No federal agency may set their own rules and regulations. All laws and their implementation must be done by the legislative branch. Executive Agencies only enforce.

2 term max for senators. 4 terms for congress.

Massive expansion of the house of representatives.

Cutting of federal spending that would likely result in a global recession but good for everyone long term.

A Manhattan project level investment into fusion power.

Nuclear power everywhere.

Create a tax code that is at most two pages long. (Most likely cutting overall tax rates but eliminate all tax breaks. Your taxes are your taxes. Pay them. )

I understand your other points. What would this do different than today? If reps are proportionately expanded by population, it seems we would just end up with more bodies but the same percentage mix of D's, R's, and I's.

Limit donations to political campaigns to the constituents of that office. Must reside in district to donate to that representative campaign, must reside in state to donate to senate, governor etc.

There is too much "outside" money corrupting elected officials by making them beholden to their financiers instead of serving their electorate

Systemic change only (no ability to change hearts), and not me as emperor?

Ok:
1. Fed gets out of everything. SS divests to states, welfare gets dropped, most government agencies get gutted or eliminated. The only $ from a fed to a citizen should be part of a personal contract (employment or procurement)
2. Half of the post-BoR constitutional amendments get revised or eliminated. Senators go back to state selection, votes only by net tax paying citizen adults.
3. Citizenship required on census and used for house seat computation.
4. Flat tax, no withholdings, due the month before elections. Debtors don't get the vote.
5. Balanced budget amendment: current year's expenditures cannot exceed previous year's collection.
6. Rand Paul in charge of the Federal Reserve
7. Alex Jones in charge of the ministry of truth
8. Term limits
9. Congress to be employees of their respective states, with no personal federal benefits or ability to exempt themselves from anything they pass
10. Judiciary directive to first apply a test of constitutionality prior to examination of precedent.

...for starters at least.

This sounds good on the surface but is really a recipe for some major demographic problems down the road. Japan, Italy, and other European countries are in for some real economic problems because of a reduction of population due to low birth rates. This doesn't even begin to address China who will have some catastrophic consequences from their one child policy over the next generation or two.

Almost no one is ready financially, emotionally, or maturity wise to have children when we do. Most of us grow up and figure it out. We have one job was humans... Reproduce and continue the species. Let's not pay people to forgoe the one thing they are here to do.

All government administrative careers are limited to a total of 10 years. From lowest janitor to executive. Once you have been an employee you can't consult, advise or lobby.

To get child tax credits you have to take a parenting class and pass a test every 2 years.

If you effectively pay no personal income tax, you can either give up your right to vote, or you must take a economics / finance class that explains why you paid no taxes, who pays the taxes and where taxes and borrowing money to fund the goes and comes from.

Agree. Think about men and how immature we are when young. We would all get sterilized and then country would die.

Vocal enemies of the United States, with the wherewithal to enact harm on her or it's citizens (not necessarily heads of state, think folks like George Soros & family) would be CIA-ed, attaining room temperature in short order.

This of course, would require the CIA of old, not the right hand of the Leftist Democrat Party as it is now.

Outlaw communism in any of its flavors.
Get rid of political parties, especially Democrats.
Term limits for all, and all positions must be voted by the electorate.
Reform the FBI.
Eliminate unneeded federal departments.
Voting only for those who actually pay taxes.
Reform the media - you have one job, and it is not to behave like a fourth branch (or Goebbels). Licensing for journalists to publish; violations of your one job and say goodbye to your license.
Flat tax.
End withholding - everyone writes a check.
Eliminate electronic voting as this has been proven too susceptible to fraud.
National holiday for Election Day. No MIB, no drop boxes, just polling places.

Edit to add:
Break up the tech companies. If it was okay for Ma Bell, it is good enough for FB et al. If you want to be a publisher, fine but you are subject to the same rules as opposed to being a platform.

We should be in triage mode considering where America is right now in May 2022 and considering the state of deglobalization chaos that is now underway. Things are coming to a head and wasting time on a lot of what has been mentioned here is folly from a triage and time sensitive perspective.

In that vein, I would do the following immediately:

  • Outlaw government issued and controlled digital currency; we would adopt an independent standard when it makes sense to do so. Preventing the former is one of the last barriers of defense for your freedom and liberty in this country.
  • Declare certain supply/resources/materials as America First items that require no dependency on other countries for production. This would include things like food, pharmaceuticals, and critical IT infrastructure. Anyone sourcing this stuff in China or elsewhere has to immediately start planning how to re-shore all of it. Would make exceptions for near shoring in Western Hemisphere for some items like food, of course.
  • End all participation in global GNDs and immediately invest hard in energy infrastructure and innovation in the following order: (1) nuclear (2) clean fossil (3) green as an edge scenario/provider

These are the three most mission critical items IMO that need to be addressed immediately. We could then come back to all other items people have listed.

I would also require a voter minimum on bond referendums. Too much money is being spent when less than 10% of the voters show up.
