For an honest answer, my eyes are not as good as they were 10 years ago. I have problems shooting my handguns as accurately as I once did. I find a AR pistol with a red dot to be the answer for my home defense. I use my others for hogs and just general fun. The AR was the first platform that my son shot when he was 4. They are incredibly versatile platforms and none of mine have ever snuck out in the middle of the night and hurt someone.

Because my wife's odds of knocking down an intruder goes up significantly compared to a handgun.

Mine even has the shoulder thingy that goes up.

In general terms and themes
Good for home defense
Good for most large game ( caliber nerds will flame me)
Easy to outfit with optics for different purposes
In the gravest extreme it is good for taking on multiple adversaries
Ammo is usually cheap so practicing can be done more often.

Not sure on that, but it can only take 10 round clips so it's less deadly.

Imagine a violent criminal like George Floyd and a team of other violent robbers invading your home…like he and his gang did to that innocent woman years ago. I would much rather have an AR-15 in this instance than a compact Glock or shotgun.

Yes. Because of my deformed hands and inability to rotate my forearms it is the first rifle I can safely hold (with attachments) and shoot.

…..so thanks for hating on the handicapped.

Btw I have had my AR-15 under camera for 2 years and it has never once tried to go out joy riding and shoot folks.
