As much as I love San Antonio, no one wants to live there. Companies come to Austin because this is where the talent is. Kids graduate from tu and A&M with degrees in Computer Science and are banking cash here in Austin.
Interesting that no one wants to live in the seventh largest city in the US...

And yet he moved there anyway?

So strange how Austlandia hate capitalism, but lands so many wealthy capitalists.

It's a different vibe. San Antonio is more blue collar whereas Austin is more techie.

My theory is that most of these capitalists enjoy liberal scenery and such but hate their business policies. That's why so many Californians move to Austin. Austin is basically california-lite. Lotta social liberals but still has decent business incentives

Si, less white people in SA.

You are correct on that.
Still, San Antonio and Fort Worth are much more biz friendly than Austin/Travis Co.

True but they don't have the liberal lifestyle vibe that austin does. I imagine lots of wealthy libs live in the old lakefront Austin neighborhood. The more conservatives are out in lake way near Travis lake

Elon put it far enough away from downtown Austin so that he doesn't have to walk or drive through poo on the way to the airport....

It's like here in San Antonio. A lot of liberal "elites" live in alamo heights; Terrell hills. Alamo heights has a very trendy urban liberal vibe. Most conservatives are out in the burbs near canyon lake or Bulverde

I'm more pissed nobody goes to San Antonio, it's always Austin

Same reason they don't build factories in the RGV, just slightly less so. But you will never catch a Fortune 500 company saying it out loud

Small airport?

I'm messing with you because you're premise is offbase. It's the airport. SA is working to address this issue, and as a future Delta hub, they will soon appeal to more Fortune 500s.

Doubt it, unfortunately it's landlocked, Austin's isn't. Dumbass Castro decided to not upgrade it and we lost AT&T and recently Tesoro. Our airport even if upgraded will brought up to todays standards not tomorrows

Austin was already booming before they moved to Airport to Bergstrom. The growth drove the airport, not the other way around

You said San Antonians basically live in Mexico City, have you ever been to Mexico or the corrupt parts. There is crime here no doubt, but I have never worried about being kidnapped and held for ransom. Hispanics don't equal cartel

Clearly I was exaggerating. My main point was this - when businesses are deciding which corrupt city they want to deal with, SA is usually last.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.
