Yes, since it's an immigration status and not an ethnic one.
People that use "African-American" in lieu of the more correct "black" are stupid and part of the problem.
Sorry but you are factually incorrect, the actual definition of African American is "black Americans" who are descendants of enslaved Africans.
This is America and much is owed due to the historical injustice of enslaving the Black American. This debt has been co-opted by undeserving African, Mexican, Asian, immigrants and now gays, gay ass varieties, fat people, the mentally ill.
If anybody is being replaced it is due to the leveraging of civil rights implemented mainly due to the continued Black injustices inflicted by Democrats after 14th Amendment.
This was a bright spot of the new SCOTUS appointed: Justice Ketanji is Generational African American (GAA), i.e. Descendant of American Slaves (DOAS) unlike Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Joy Ann Reid and approximately 90% of the "African Americans" in Harvard's entering class this year, according to the Harvard Crimson.
There are also more descendants of slave holders currently attending Harvard than DOAS.
So being pissy about African American label is virtue signaling at best.
