Child support may be all of these things and more, but you're never going to find a perfect solution to a problem derived from a lack of personal responsibility. How is father determined before birth? And child support system is a controversial, inexact, and abused.
C-sections cost upwards of $10k and all that prenatal care aint cheap. Who is paying for that? So the father has to pay the bill to the mom after the birth? Or, in cases where the taxpayer paid the medical bills, should the father reimburse the state or otherwise go to prison?
Eta: seems like people wont consider downstream effects and tradeoffs for their 'solutions'
