I really do not believe that kid is in any sort of science/math discipline or won any award in either subject. Generally really bright and gifted people in math and/or science do not dress or behave like that kid was. Just a Glib BS Artist in front of a microphone and a audience.

The fact that he opened his question/statements by spouting his supposed credentials is generally an immediate indication that they are making **** up in order to discourage any challenges and to legitimize what ever they are about to say next. That's the beginning and end of any discussion with an "educated" leftist in San Francisco when I lived there. It got a bit tiresome, especially since I tended to keep my 8 years of hard science education, including having a doctor in my title, out of an argument. I relied on actual arguments with data and facts instead of hiding behind titles, so often I was shouted down, and I often ended up bored with the efforts. I learned real quick that arguing with an "educated" leftist wasn't worth it. There is no such thing as a discussion in San Francisco, just endless circlejerks. Similar to the covid forum, but without the mods censoring me if I dared to give alternative perspectives based on truth.

How ironic that someone who brags about being an expert in the fields of math and physics would spout off about ambiguous gender identities and unquantifiable woke BS.

I've never understood people casually challenging those like Shapiro to public arguments. Who is right almost doesn't even matter, he's a professional political commentator, a trained lawyer and actively spends time perfecting debate and argument tactics.

He's going to smash any college kid in any discussion on any topic, if for no other reason than he just has more tools at his disposal. It's like the old debates between Hitchens and random religious apologists, it doesn't matter who is right because one is going to win the debate regardless.

Being wildly intelligent doesn't necessarily mean you are good in a public forum or inherently can provide sound logical reasoning for your positions. These are learned skills and someone like Shapiro is going to be exponentially better at them than any college student.

There's a reason your teachers/professors randomly assigned debate positions and made you argue for them. Winning a debate isn't really about who is right at all.
