He said he can go anywhere he wants with his NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.

"The five-year fellowship includes three years of financial support including an annual stipend of $34,000 and a cost of education allowance of $12,000 to the institution."

MIT costs $76k a year and Caltech costs $77k.

He's not going to MIT or Caltech on that "award".
Pretty sure that kid will never pay a dime toward any of his education. He checks the right boxes. If you get what I mean,

If they give out 2,500 grants a year, is it really the most prestigious award in the country?

Lol. They only give out around 1000/year for the full ride scholarship I got, but it admittedly limited my options of where I could go.

He's also a litmus test between people who are ideologically conservative and the people who are just Trump simps.
Not really. A person can be a true conservative (I am), support much of what Trump did ( I did) and not be a Trump simp. Sometimes good can be the enemy of great.

If a person cannot look at our current situation and realize we would be MUCH better off with a President who loves America, that person is irredeemable.

That kid needs a good butt whipping.

Libs can be so incredibly rude and obnoxious. Just another in a long line of know-it-all, loud mouthed leftist punks.

He's not on the same planet intellectually as Shapiro.
That kid is a typical over educated know it's all without any real world experience. And let's just say….it's obvious why he was given (not won) that award. Checked the right boxes.
And he'll spend his entire career in academia, ensuring many other people become educated idiots.

Liberals are so godless and trashy. Notice how the liberal gay male couldn't help but get sexually explicit and vulgar in his debate. Typical. Wish it wasn't so, but it is.

I realize many gay men are above this, but it just seems all too common. So sex obsessed and unable to keep it in.

Who wouldn't turn down Princeton to go to such a prestigious institution like the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

(Yes he did apply and yes he got rejected)

Pretty funny seeing liberals try to argue with people who know what they are talking about. This guy is such a loser.
What do you want to bet if Ben asked the "mathematician" what "2 + 2 equals" the "mathematician" would have debated colonialism and racism instead of giving THE answer of "4"

Both of those are pretty heavily endowed schools. They "cost" that but most students aren't actually paying anything. Less than 20% of MIT students any loans. Most any prestigious school, including those in the Ivy League, offer financial aid to the point that, unless your parents are making 7 figures, you're not paying much if anything.

He throws out his "credentials" and awards as a means to assure everyone he is super qualified and shouldn't be challenged. It's a typical leftist tactic. Throw up a smokescreen and hope nobody looks behind it.

His certainty of his intelligence is hilarious.

It's like when AOC lectured everyone on her MIT issued "accomplishments in the field of microbiology".

It was a science fair.

When someone tries to tell you how smart they are, just let them talk. It won't take long for their insecure idiocy to be revealed.

Yeah. One of my old coworker's sons got into Harvard. He was giddy AF when he got the financial aid info. Both he and his wife made 6-figures, but their total out of pocket each year? $5,000.

This whole problem is, fortunately, something that legal academics and law school administrators are finally starting to pay attention to. They realize that students who think they will always get their way shouting people down, using the hecklers' veto, and generally shutting down opposition they dislike instead of facing it head on and advocating for their position does them a great disservice after graduation.

They'll never be able to comprehend how to be an advocate and argue for their position and their ideas if they're endlessly intellectually coddled to the point they can't comprehend of a situation where they aren't "right" and don't simply "win."

Enter the new Harris Co. judiciary…
The story isn't that [DeSantis] "couldn't win" the primary. The story is that an overwhelming majority of our population is heinously stupid. 50% of them vote for communists. 75% of the remaining 50% vote for Trump, who cant win. When the majority of the opposition party insists on voting for an opposition candidate who can't win, you get exactly the government you deserve. - Well Endowed Ag

Just as a derail, if you're a NSF GRF recipient its on top of being an RA already. It frees up cash for you to research what you 'want' instead of what the professor has assigned you and is also a scholarship. So you're still on the RA payroll, free tuition, if you got those things. You just now have this extra pot of cash to formally work on what you want. Also its something that makes you sought after from professors if you're looking to start a phd or a post doc.

In all honesty, research at institutions is so expense and universities suck so much money off of grants to fund administration/facilities, 34k+12k+ is a drop in the bucket. This is just to get broke kids a chance to do a preliminary study and come right back for a bigger NSF grant. You aren't doing any engineering on 12k that hasn't already been done before and you better be at a small midwest engineering school to make it rain with 34k.

As a side note, I knew a guy who was on full ride at grad school at A&M with a research stipend of 2,600 a month, had a diversity scholarship of 30k a year, and was doing really nice oil/gas internships for 20-30k over the summer.

Kid was rolling it in as a 23 year old grad student. Funny enough, the professor hated working with kids like that. They were brilliant, but they would leave for the summer, not work on the professors projects and then come back flush with cash. A professor needs their students broke and starving to get their publications up to snuff. The prof's favorite tactic was to either A) threaten to not renew their RA contract if they got some kid to join over the summer and fill their spot. B) not give them access to equipment to do their dissertation or let other kids jump in line on dissertation review.

Academia sucks by the way.

Trying to make some argument about gender identity and at the same time saying something like "you can't get any *****, and you can't even make your wife wet" is just so contradictory and disrespectful of every woman there.

this. i voted for the guy, i would again today if it was the same choice. but i can recognize his foibles.

i listen to Ben Shapiro and disagree with him regularly. probably once an episode.

i also listen to pro-abortion, pro-ubi, pro-UHC (things i'm against) Joe Rogan and agree with him fairly often.

there are plenty of people that realized Trump was a very flawed conservative choice, but insanely better than the alternative without also being full blown MAGA and Q.
