That sounds good. So long as they don't catch on fire while plugged in, they should do well.

EV fires are without a doubt much more difficult to put out but what you guys ignore about ICE fires is they can be put out easier but if the fire department doesn't arrive in time, the fire from an ICE can destroy those structures because the fire expands into the structure or to other cars before firefighters arrive.

The comedy of this whole argument is that what is way more likely to kill someone from a car is kinetic energy and not thermal energy but you guys want to keep saying Fire, Fire, Fire. About 1.2mm per year die in road deaths each year. How many die from vehicle fires? Very few.

I don't care if you have 20 gallons of unleaded gasoline or a 90 kWh battery: stop lighting your cars on fire, people!

Demand apparently continues to slow down for EVs across the board. This field in Florida is filled with unsold Teslas just sitting out there.

New vehicle dealer inventory once again climbed in June, with 2.96 million vehicles just sitting on lots. That works out to about a 76-day supply, and it's up from 2.89 million vehicles a month earlier. It's also a million more vehicles than where it was at the same time last year 1.95 million.

The phantom drain is around 3-5 miles per day or approx 1kw. That would make the cost around $0.13/day.

(Note, the drain decreases once the car goes below a preset level usually around 20% battery charge).

Thats not too bad but hundreds/thousands of cars could add up. Is that drain a certain brand/model?
