That's a great article?

The guy cities a story about a Tesla charger starting a house fire then uses it as a basis for ranting on batteries, which didn't cause the fire.

Yeah these are really starting to percolate. People are waking up to the dangers.

The dangers of a charger? I'm glad there were no electrical fires prior to EV's

Nor any kind of fire, like you always say. Still despite all protestations, it's beginning to be recognized as a legitimate issue.

Kinda similar to how D*ms insisted Biden was sharp as a thumbtack until the debate put a spotlight on the truth.
Trump will fix it.

34-year-old earning $400,000 a year: I regret buying a brand-new Tesla-it was a 'huge mistake'

Quote:

"I just really wanted a Tesla because it's something my ex wouldn't let me [have], and I regret buying that full price," the 34-year-old tells CNBC Make It. "Huge mistake."

That's because, as Lee now knows, cars are a depreciating asset. Generally speaking, they lose value over time and you'll rarely recoup your purchase costs if and when you want to resell them. Most new cars lose about 20% of their retail value in the first year of ownership, according to Kelley Blue Book.

Electric cars, and Teslas specifically, may depreciate even faster. Electric vehicles lose their value at an average rate of 49% in the first five years, compared with about 39% for all vehicles, a 2023 study by iSeeCars found. Teslas are among some of the worst at retaining their value, with Model 3s losing an average 43% of their value in five years.

Cutting the prices continues to ripple.

Only EVs catch fire.

Only EVs depreciate

they have tremendous brake dust
Are the only vehicles on the road over 4000 lbs
Cobalt, rare earths, zinc, copper, and nickel are only used in EVs
Only EVs rely on materials and parts from China
And every fire started or collapse in a parking garage or car lot is caused by EVs even when one wasn't even on the property.

And just like the Covidians think that anyone that dies while positive for Covid died from Covid, the ICE trolls think anyone that dies in an EV that also has a fire died from the fire despite doing something like hitting a tree at an excessive speed.

This article isn't at all like you claim it to be. She specifically says she likes the car. Her regret is buying a new car because it wasn't a smart investment. Welcome to the world of buying all new cars. They are never an investment. They are an expense with high depreciation the moment the car is driven off the lot.

"But in retrospect, she says buying a shiny new car wasn't a very smart investment. As of June 2024, she still owes around $36,000 on the car more than it's worth, according to an Edmunds estimate.

"I like the car, but I would have bought it used or would have thought about it a little bit more because now that I'm paying for it and looking at my monthly statements more closely, a thousand [dollars] a month is a big deal," she says. "If I had put that into something else, I would have been making more money in terms of my investment return."

PS. At no time did she say anything about the car buying experience in the article.

Up nearly 15% QoQ after you went on and on three months ago about how last quarter's numbers were low purely off demand issues.

They also had 132% increase in energy deployments with 9.2 GWh of battery storage.

There's a reason the stock was up 10% today. Up 17% this week.

China sales were down due to increased competition/lower priced competitors. Sales were down >40,000 in the country relative to only 22,000 YoY globally. Europe was pretty flat, which means you probably saw a near 10% YoY increase in the U.S.

Quote:

That figure took the Q2 tally in China to 205,747 vehicles, which represents a 17% slide from the year-earlier period.

The stock price is down due to margin compression driven by increased interest rates despite reductions in BOM costs. High rates also slowed demand in the market segment that Tesla operates in with consumers in that market shifting to lower priced vehicles. Hence Mercedes and BMW are also hurting, but Toyota is not.

Your argument has been that EVs as a product category are going to fail. The fact that consumers are shifting from a premium product to less premium options of the same product category is not evidence that your thesis is correct. It's actually a counter to the basis of your "understanding", because it indicates that EVs haven't actually hit their cost reduction end point.

When don't you? It is implicit if not explicit in every post you have on this thread/forum in general. You simultaneously say that you want Tesla to succeed for Musk's sake while exhibiting enjoyment every time some negative news story hits and even when positive news occurs you try to spin it negatively.

You seriously can't be this lacking in self awareness of how you portray yourself/your opinions on this forum, can you?

And who are these people? Every EV owner and supporter on this thread, myself included, regularly state their limitations and short comings. This claim simply isn't rooted in reality on this thread. It's like you're calling out a boogeyman that doesn't exist.
