I'm quite happy. I just don't get so bored I go to the gas station to chat. I'd rather be with my family or friends or running errands or working. I go to businesses to do the business I came for, not to chat. Not ever going to a gas station is a big selling point for an EV.

Then again I wouldn't waste my money to think I'm sticking it to the liberals either. Maybe pump a few gallons down the drain next time to really let em have it.

3 Year Model Y ownership, over 100K miles. This is by far the best and most convenient car I have owned. I can't think of anything an ICE car would be better other than the occasional Supercharging 20 min vs Gas 5 minute stops. But even then, doing 3 supercharging stops a year beats 100 stops a year at a gas station.

You can't think of towing? You must not be very good at thinking.

I don't tow anything. If I needed to tow anything big or anything a long way, an EV is a bad choice. Most people don't tow anything though.

We are a two car family. We have a 33' travel trailer and a long commute.

So we have a 3/4 ton truck and a Tesla. Right tools, right job.

People tow RV's? Seems kinda dumb but I guess towing your RV around with your F-350 REALLY sticks it to the libs.

What percentage of people do you think need to tow something? What percentage of those people have multiple vehicles like TeslAg?

That would actually harm the environment.

Agree. EVs are terrible tools for a lot of people so it would be nice if the government stopped trying to force them down our throats and hamstring ICEs to do so.

And I was just helping medag think a little since anyone with an IQ over the speed limit in a school zone realizes that EVs are comically bad when it comes to towing.

RV means recreational vehicle, and yes people do tow RV's
to places like Garner State Park where they use them for a weekend.
The percentage able to do this has no doubt gone down lately,
but was fairly common at one time.

100% of Americans need trailers to be towed. As far as actually towing, probably not very many. But for those of us that do tow trailers regularly, it's very annoying to see what the climate nuts are doing to the truck market. I know all the Tesla fan bois on here claim they are fun to drive and they don't care about the environment, but the government subsidies aren't there because they are fun to drive. They are there to give EVs a leg up. Modern diesel engines are plagued with issues because of all the emission crap on them. Gas engines as well as everyone chases higher mpg while sacrificing power and reliability.

No one does that
My Nissan Altima can go 500 miles before fill up. 25 miles from work 50 miles round trip. 2 fill ups in a 2 week period.

Uh, that's 250 miles per week.

Ok thanks. I agree.

I'm against government mandates. I'm against subsidies too but I don't qualify for any. I'm also against nonsense and this thread is full of it from anti EV obsessed posters.

Yes. In my use case I will never need to stop in my EV to add range. It will get me where I need to go without wasting my time. It shouldn't be that hard to understand.

I support that.

I'm not really against EVs. They just don't make sense to me.

I'm against the unintelligent left and their religious belief in the propaganda that's been fed to them.

The nonsense is coming from both sides. You're just too biased to see it.

For example, medag said he can't think of anything an ICE can do better than an EV except for an occasional 20 min supercharger stop vs 5 min at a gas station.

Towing. They can do towing better. I don't care if you need to tow or not. That doesn't change that they do towing better.

It's not a big selling point.

This is the problem with both sides in this country on a number of issues including EVs. . They think they know what is best for everyone else.

If you live a ways away from a gas station, having the ability to "refuel" at home is a big selling point even before factoring the cost differential. If you tow or haul heavy stuff or drive more than 200 miles per day, an EV makes no sense.

Suggest you go find the best EV.

There are all sorts of them.

BEV to the MHEV.

I prefer the MHEV, the BEV not so much. Ended up buying a MHEV.

Enjoy shopping.

My Jeep Wrangler gets 14 mpg. I fill up less than twice a month. Nice to have a short work commute and live on an island so my beach trips are ~4 mi roundtrip.

Don't think the Tesla would be much fun on the beach, either.

Ita odd that people have taken sides on EVs, like it's a team sport or politics.

It either makes economic sense or it does not. And that's gonna be different for different people, distance to work..etc

I think the fact that government has been working to force them on everyone has caused a lot of the animosity.

Even when the rules/regulations are not directly beneficial for EVs, they're often negative towards ICE (to the indirect benefit of EVs).

That, and just like with lots of things, the EVs have rabid fanbois...which turn off folks who aren't fanbois. (you seen this with the Apple/Android ecosystems, too).

So, I think it makes folks who otherwise be agnostic on EVs into anti-EV folks...

Anyways...just an observation.

Makes sense. I don't spend big money on transportation, 30K max on a vehicle each for me snd my wife. So it's a simple cost thing for me.
