Can't find the article I saw about his wife's health, but he did apparently shoot it down on Hannity some time back:Panama Red said:
Where did you see he wasn't going to run?

Governor Ron DeSantis is in fact running for re-election as governor of Florida.
He confirmed the news on an appearance on Hannity on Fox News Thursday evening after he was asked about whether he would be running for president in 2024.
"I'm not considering doing anything but my job," DeSantis said. "We've got a lot of stuff going on in Florida. I'm going to be running for re-election next year."

2024 won't be 2016. The political environment is incredibly different, especially for Trump.Thrax said:
Didn't he say in 2016 he wouldn't support the R candidate if it wasn't him and he would run on his own

Utah Sen. Mike Lee is not only going to the convention he is serving as a delegate on the powerful Rules Committee, along with his wife. As one of the 112-member committee, Lee will play a role in drafting the rules for the convention. Meanwhile, an effort is underway to strip delegates of binding and allow them to vote for whomever they choose on the floor, and Lee could determine whether or not that movement gets a chance to get a vote on the floor of the convention.
Randy Evans, an RNC committeeman from Georgia and Rules Committee delegate and lawyer who has worked with the RNC and Trump campaign, has compiled a list tracking delegate leanings at the convention. He estimates that right now, the delegate unbinding effort has about 18 members of the Rules Committee behind it far short of the 28 needed to get a minority report that merits an up-or-down vote on the convention floor.
But he expects that Lee, who has thus far declined to publicly commit on the movement, could play game-changer as one of the highest-profile members of the committee.
Alright, so if you believe that the alphabet soup agencies conspired with voting machine companies and Dems did ballot stuffing with mail-in, what makes you think he can overcome that in 2024? I mean, really, if you believe the election was stolen, what safeguards or protections have been put in place to prevent it in the future?Line Ate Member said:
um Trump didn't "lose" to Poopy. Next year, we are going to see issues in North Carolina though similar to Michigan, Wisconsin and the like.
Speaking of Arizona, perhaps dunking on McCain after his death wasn't a good idea.Quote:
I lived in NC last year and expected a fight. They delayed the "results" but only after it was for sure Arizona and the others were in the "clear".

If he is the nominee and trump isn't and he decides to run independent will y'all vote for trump?
Will this cause a permanent shift in the GOP?
Trump wasn't even showing up on polls in 2014 at this point. Obama was certainly not showing up on polls in 2006 either. Neither was even at 1%. Polls right now mean absolutely nothing.FrioAg 00 said:
Not sure if you've looked at any actual poll numbers, but if Trump runs he's getting the GOP nomination. It's not a question.
That's pains me to say it because I greatly favor DeSantis. He's got all of Trumps positives and he doesn't have 6 years of media-manufactured TDS that will generate millions of additional votes for literally anyone running against him. (Including a bunch of dumba** CMs who would otherwise vote R)
My two hopes are that (1) Trump decides not to run or (2) the Dems run someone so awful and despised like Hillary, Harris or Biden - that Trump wins anyway
Hillary was never qualified at any age.TAMU1990 said:ttu_85 said:This is true now. But as the campaign progresses I think you see a huge shift. Biden is going to ruin the idea of really old guys as president for a while.FrioAg 00 said:

Trumps age will be a big deal.
What about old gals (Hillary)? She's no spring chicken either!
Betcha it doesn't stay that way. Oh and watch the Media, in the primaries they will suddenly be Trumps big buddy just like 2016. He is the only candidate Biden or any demorat would have a chance to beat. BTW if Trump is the nom I back him in the general. Until then its DeSantis.TexAgs91 said:

DeSantis:
- Fights as hard as Trump
- Doesn't have Trump's baggage
- Smarter than Trump
- Better policies, although they're not terribly different
- Better chance of winning the general election
- Younger
- Scares the everliving hell out of the Democrats
I would vote Trump over any Romney-like GOP candidate, but if we want to win and make a long term push against the insane left, RDS is the guy.

This thread has everything. The lib posing as a concerned moderate and MFBarnes has joined the fray.
What a day to be alive.
Biden only has a chance to "beat" Trump if he cheats like he did before. And (again because never Trumpers will never grasp this) he or any other puppet lib could also "beat" any republican candidate including DeSantis by cheating.ttu_85 said:Betcha it doesn't stay that way. That said Trump will be 78. We already have one of those. You can argue all you want about energy levels but nobody beats time. Need younger new energy.

This has been a serious problem for the Republican Party. Reagan was spent by the time he left office. Elder bush was old and stayed out of the limelight. GW was such an embarrassment he crawled in a hole after leaving office.
Compare that to Clinton who was a part of every election since he left office. Obama is still influential behind the scenes and will be for a long time. We need someone younger who can still maintain the movement after leaving office.
Year of the Germaphobe said:Thrax said:
That's the problem, are you gonna tow the line for trump or give your vote to the Rs. If the vote is split, Dems win
I'm going to vote for the candidate that has the greatest chance of success against whoever the democrat incumbent or challenger is.
Period.
If you think any Republican cares about Trump more than regulating the democrat party, you're watching waaaaaaaaaay too much MSM.
I'm in flag waving, truck driving, central lol. None of these guys will think twice about voting the same way.
